We got married one month ago today-- on Friday, May 10th, 2024. It was the best day of our lives! ♥️ I firmly believe we wouldn't have had the same outcome without our photographer Derek. I do not have the proper words to describe how strongly I would recommend Derek K Photography as your wedding photographer. He was one of my husband and I's favorite vendors that we booked for our wedding.

Leading up to the wedding, the process seemed to be going so smoothly. I thought it was for sure "too good to be true!". It wasn't until about the week of the wedding when my attitude about that started to shift. The stresses of it all-- last minute changes, balances due, hiccups along the road, and the gloomy rainy weather forecast-- all came crashing down on me. As a bride, I felt so overwhelmed. Planning a wedding was both fun and exciting, but also challenging. The day before the wedding I reached out to Derek to discuss the plans about the rain and to prepare for a "backup" plan. His reassurance, calm demeanor and professionalism are all things that I will never be able to return back to him. I cannot thank him enough for what he has given us.

Seeing him arrive at my house that morning gave me ALL of the feelings of happiness and excitement. It brought tears in my eyes and the year's worth of planning came to life! I couldn't believe the day was finally here and that he was here to capture our wedding. It seemed like yesterday he shot our engagement. Him and his ENTIRE crew (huge thank you to his assistants that day!) were BEYOND amazing at guiding Vincent and I on how to pose ("shoulders back, deep breath!"), and most importantly to BE present and soak up all of the moments. We had a large bridal party and also took family portraits (with my big Italian family) and Derek was so efficient and amazing. He didn't miss a beat and I am blown away by his work.

Derek you will never be able to understand how thankful I am to you for helping us make sure that we got those special moments, gorgeous photos and memories to last a lifetime. I did not think it was possible for me to love every single one of my wedding photos -- but I cannot express how obsessed Vincent and myself, my entire family and all our loved ones are with every single one! You are a phenomenal photographer and I could not have imagined our day without you... from start to finish! You truly made our day.

My husband and I can not say enough great things about Derek K! Hiring Derek as our wedding photographer was one of the easiest decisions we made during the planning process. First and foremost, he has the most incredibly personable, bubbly, friendly personality. I did not have any prior photography sessions (ie: engagement shoot) with Derek prior to our wedding day. After our first phone conversation, I knew I needed him as my photographer. It felt so easy to communicate with him, he was open to hearing our plans for what we wanted our wedding pictures to include, and his timeline seemed to flow perfectly with how we imagined our wedding day to be laid out. With not having an engagement shoot done, our wedding morning was our first in person interaction, and he IMMEDIATELY made us feel so comfortable. It was like we had known him for years. He was so welcoming, and quickly allowed my husband and I to feel comfortable behind the camera. Besides all of that, Derek was so accommodating. He listened to everything I had planned out in my head, and did such a perfect job at bringing my visions and ideas to life. When we received some sneak peaks the following day, we were blown away. He exceeded our expectations and more! Derek truly photographs so beautifully. Our pictures so far are perfection, and I can't wait to see all the rest of them. I don’t even know where to begin!! I would highly recommend Derek as a photographer for any special event. He and his work are just incredible! Planning a wedding during this hectic time proved difficult, but I knew from the first phone call that Derek was the photographer for us. I’m so grateful he was available to shoot our wedding, which was 11/5/21 at the Legacy Castle! He sent me some of his work that he had done previously at our venue, and it was absolutely breathtaking. That sealed the deal for me! He was readily available to answer any questions that came up and was just so easy going throughout the planning process and on our actual wedding day. He is professional, helpful, down to earth, and has a great sense of humor, which helped to make us ALL be incredibly comfortable the day of the wedding. He didn’t miss a beat when we (the girls) ran a little off schedule and is so incredibly patient. He sent me our gallery of photos on Thanksgiving, a little less than 3 weeks after our wedding. What a gift. My husband and I were blown away! Each photo is more beautiful than the next! My family couldn’t get over them. Somehow in the chaos of the day, Derek captured all of the important moments, whether posed or candid, and in such a creative way.
