Ponte Vecchio — Restaurant in New York

I dine at PV at least once a month. It is my go to place for both dining alone or with a friend/friends. The staff always makes you feel welcomed. One of the partners is always present to greet you with a smile and a hello. Most importantly I love the food! My favorite is the spicy pork chop, and the cheesecake cone for dessert. I have only positive things to say about PV. They accommodated my daughter and I when we wanted to have lunch during a private party, by seating us in an area where the owners and their guests were dining. On another occasion, my daughter and I ordered our dinner, but before we were served I had to leave because I wasn’t feeling well. My daughter stayed and got the food to go. When she asked for the check, she was told that it was taken care of. I rarely experience this kind of treatment, and I dine out very often. The people that wrote in their review, the food was tasteless, were probably suffering from a cold or just like to complain and there’s no pleasing them. People who complained about the price: no one forced you to dine here, and the prices aren’t kept secret. Complaints about the service and staff: if it’s busy you should expect a longer wait for your order, anyone who often dines out knows this. Also, your server is a human and should be treated with respect, you are not the only person they are taking care of. They can become overwhelmed, especially when it’s busy or if someone called out sick. Try speaking to them like a human and maybe ask them how they’re doing or if they are ok. A little show of compassion and understanding goes a long way. Stop looking for things to complain about, or creating a situation just so you...

Very upset to say the least seeing the owner was amazing at one time. However I asked one question asking if my sons godfather was around only to have my life threatened by him. That shocked me honestly seeing I do not talk about who I am related to or all hell would have broke loose...... Aros was much better and even during the good times and the bad you weren't evil like that. Also what's happened to the food? The way your staff treats customers? Never ever again will I walk in there I was shocked bugs on the floor? Not like you, dirty bathroom? Wow never again , I suppose you should be lucky uncle Tommy passed away I am hurt truly shocked you threatened my life? A girl? Again I do not speak regarding family ever....... You honestly should have stayed on that dumb show instead and close ...... Lucky I am anything but a cope caller or a Rat. Lastly why are rats outside all over the place? I can not believe I brought family very well known all the way from Park Ave My Madame aka Zia almost left she's was highly shocked and she's that well known and also 98, she may not look it but how dare anyone treat she and Zio the way they where. Throw in friends, family from Italy No comment as to who they are, France and Norway. Never...

Imagine giving ONE star to a restaurant you never ate it! But here we are. I had TWO reservations for Sunday as family was celebrating my birthday and I have wanted to eat here for quite awhile. We had family coming in later so we booked another table for later time. Thankfully my daughter called them On SUNDAY AFTER receiving confirmation emails prior and she wanted to ask if we can have two tables side by side as other party would be late, but before she can ask anything she was told that our 8:30 reservation wouldn’t work as kitchen closes EARLY on Sunday’s and reservations should be before 7pm. Meanwhile it states they close at 10. So if we didn’t call and just showed up like most people would, then we wouldn’t be serviced as kitchen would be closed? Maybe website should state this or maybe someone should follow up immediately when seeing reservations made on Sunday, not very professional or on top of things. So at end of day, we never got to eat at PV and had to scramble last minute to find a nice restaurant to accommodate our two parties. Thank you PV for ruining a birthday and my belief this would be great experience...
