I happened to be in the UES and dropped into DLI Nails for a mani-pedi yesterday: it was the best nail spa experience of my life! I called first to make sure they had availability and they did. When I arrived I saw that the spa was beautifully appointed and appeared SPOTLESS with a HUGE selection of colors (the entire OPI line?) covering two walls! They had great ventilation/odor absorption so I never caught a whiff of chemicals or acetone. The tools were freshly sanitised - and packaged to keep them that way. The music was relaxing, the massage chairs updated, clean and fully functional(!!), with the staff providing a light gauzy wrap to protect and keep you cozy during your pedicure. I was offered a fresh, cool glass of water and when it was empty it was swiftly replaced. The basins were lined with a protective wrap, and the technician who helped me, Ivy, was kind, careful and friendly (she even humored my weak attempts to speak Mandarin). Every manicure station had a stand-up phone charger (thoughtful!) and a bottle of sanitizer. And finally,:I LOVED the results! Wish there was one in Brooklyn!

I almost never leave bad reviews because I like to believe that I just had the short end of the stick. However, I’m really upset about my sns powder + tips… I ended up paying $100 dollars but when I asked how much it would be at the front the woman said $68. That same woman ended up filing my nails and I talked to her about what I wanted which was French tips. She never mentioned anything about an additional cost so I was surprised to see the check with $96… They did tell me that my “design” which was one single evil eye (so literally just three dots on tops) would add $8 to give them credit. Anyways, I left the salon at 5pm a little annoyed because I’ve never paid that much before AND I felt like my tips were different sizes but I sucked it in because whatever I just won’t go back. But then at 8:15pm I realize one of my tips had already fallen off!!! I’m just 3 and a half hours!!!!!!! This place looks nice on the outside but the quality is horrendous and definitely not worth the price.

I like how my nails came out. Very friendly and neat. I did dip powder for $60, including tip. Although it is powder, the result does not feel thick on my nails; it looks just like regular or gel nails but more durable. I gave four stars because a few times while she was filing my nails too close, which made a bit of tingling pain near the cuticles.

So I got my nails done by Lynn and there were certain things i wanted her to correct like i wanted her to make the french tip thicker like the picture i showed her which shouldn’t be a big deal. She pushed back a little saying it wouldn’t look as good which is unprofessional. She ended up doing the nails and the whole time should be being very dismissive and rude. She kept complaining that i wasn’t relaxed but it was very hard to be since she was stressing me out with the way she spoke to me. My friend got her nails done as well and normally if something is extra you are supposed to say beforehand. They didn’t tell her until after that the chrome was $20 extra. If she knew that she wouldn’t have gotten it. I said “the right thing to do is say beforehand how much it is”. She dismissed it and was like “everyone knows it’s $20 extra”. It felt very shady and scammy to me. Lastly, after her giving me horrible customer service i didn’t feel like it was fair to give her a 15% tip. So i wrote in $5 instead. She’s honestly lucky i gave her one at all. Then she claimed the 15% was required and tried to intimidate me to tip more. It was a really bad experience and i don’t recommend this place at all. Other people walking in were also neglected and not listened/tended to as well. If i could give 0...

Disgusted! I started going to this place four years ago since it’s convenient because it’s near my job. I have tried a few people but not only do they do a terrible job they’re kind of rude. I have given tips and some of them don’t even say thank you. The only thing that kept me coming back was one lady who does an amazing job on my feet but she has a terrible attitude. I’m not sure what it is. Maybe it’s me. Maybe she doesn’t like me. She never really greets me. She always seems like she wants to rush on my feet and even when I’m polite to her and say hey, how are you? How have you been? She comes off as cold But I’ve dealt with it because I like her work. I tip her $10 every time I get a regular pedicure simply because I like her work, but her attitude stinks. There are too many other nail salons on the upper east side to deal with this. I continuously tried because I like Narcissa’s work.Normally she does a good job but today I have to say it did not look good at all! I left with a fresh pedicure that did not look fresh at all! My cuticles on my toes were messy from the polish and I didn’t even feel comfortable asking her to fix it. A customer should never feel this way especially a repeat customer. Sadly, I will not...
