Yes, the service could have been better, the wait shorter, and the cottage fries a little warmer. They also only accept cash. But that didn't stop me from giving it another try tonight. Well now I definitely won't be returning, and it's the service that pushed me over the edge. We accepted the hour long wait because that's to be expected at a place that doesn't take reservations. No problem. But 30 seconds after we sat down, the waitress came over and asked for our order. We started by telling her our drink orders, and she acted miffed that we weren't ready to tell her our food orders. We ordered food only a short 3-4 minutes later, and she never brought us waters in addition to our beers like she had with other tables. I had to flag her down to ask because it became clear she wasn't going to check on us, and indeed she never once visited our table to ask how the food was or if we wanted more drinks. I'll never understand why establishments don't push the alcohol more; that's easy money they lost. We also wanted an additional condiment, but she would have never known (or cared!). When she came to give us the bill, she asked if we wanted any dessert. I told her no, but we would have loved some mayo and to have purchased more drinks while we ate our burgers. We gave her exact change, and I was going to leave a low 15% tip on the table to reflect the poor service. But as I was literally counting her tip money in my hand with my wallet open, she returned to the table and called us out, rudely saying "That didn't include the service charge.
