Dr. Tong Jing — Local services in New York

This doctor is not even worth my rant right now. I just want to give a warning to all families who are planning and know of people who has this doctor as a surgeon, to please do your research and i think you will see that a lot of reviews will direct you to a man who has a doctors degree, but is narcissistic (does not admit that he failed in a surgery that he said was "simple"), incompetent (lack of understanding and refusal to directly converse and explain procedure and results to the patient and family), and lack of empathy and remorse for the patience's family that is currently in so much distress through the pain, mentally, emotionally, and physically. Never had I've seen my grandfather in so much pain ... never have I seen my grandmother cry so hard watching my grandfather suffer all through this ... just so he can live. I can understand that sometimes you can not predict the outcome, however, this doctors lack of responsibility, lack of information, and lack of understanding has upset a lot of people. I think its safe to say that he does not deserve to be called a doctor, if he does not even feel remorseful and understanding how important his job is to millions of families and how his actions (dodging phone calls, misinformed the family, and even refusal to speak about the procedure), how he just used us, and is taking other clients, makes me sick. Hi, I appreciate you explaining and responding to this post, honestly speaking I reposted because I got an alert in my email that it was viewed the most. I realized at the time, I was really torn about what happen with my grandpa that I never went back and reread - I made some grammatical errors and thought I should go back and corrected it. I did not know that it would be reposted after two years and its funny that now you choose to explain what had happen. At that time, we did call your office and you said the exact same thing - why was I not there for my grandpa's office visit. My grandma also called to find out what happen everyday and you guys hanged up on her multiple times. She cried everyday.

I think it says a lot about what kind of doctor you are by automatically trying to guilt trip me by asking why we weren't there and how come we never came to any of the office visit. We were told the procedure was not a major serious procedure and that the doctor reassured us everything would be fine. I'm sure you have not been to every doctor visit for ur wife, kids, and love ones.

My grandpa passed away early last year and I do not wish to argue any further about what had happened 2 years ago. It seems you have no remorse and there is really no point in this back and fourth convo. This is all i have to say and I just hope, there would never ever be anyone in my place. I'm glad people are actually reading the review and taking it into consideration. This was my experience and people can choose. However, majority of your patients are Chinese and Chinese people tend to not speak up because they do not want problems. I write this review so other people can protect...

DO NOT GO HERE! THIS IS THE WORST DOCTOR (IF YOU CAN EVEN CALL HIM THAT) I’VE EVER BEEN TO!! HE IS JUST TRYING TO MAKE MONEY AND SHOULD HAVE HIS LICENSE REVOKED!!! He completely misdiagnosed and mistreated me. Put me on 2 strong rounds of antibiotics for 2 full weeks without even examining me. He was so sure he knew what the problem was, did a colonoscopy right away the following day, and gave me a one-pager for a report which was so incomplete and incomprehensive. He couldn’t tell me anything from the colonoscopy, what my issues were, or what could make me better. Just that I need to take the antibiotics …which didn’t make much sense. I had to go to emergency in a few days since nothing got better and another doctor who figured out my problem in 5 minutes and it was completely different from what he was saying. They told me to stop the antibiotics right away. The antibiotics he gave me was not needed since I had no infection at all. I did not need a colonoscopy either, and this was invasive and aggressive. I had to go through anesthesia for it. And definitely did not need biopsies!! Absolutely no need for it and biopsies are risky, it’s not just something simple people get done all the time. In addition to the misdiagnosis and mistreatment, this doctor is very rude and impolite. He has the worst attitude and just doesn’t care. When my mom called to speak to him because I was in too much pain, he was yelling at her saying I’m an adult and that I should call myself, hung up on her. When I called, he yelled saying he already told me I’d be in pain, and that I should go to my PCP or emergency and hung up on me too. He’s just ridiculous, and I’m shocked he’s allowed to practice medicine. The emergency was astounded by his diagnosis as well and said to never go back there again. When I wanted my biopsy results, he gave me issues with that too saying insurance hasn’t paid him so he won’t release. This is false, insurance paid him right away and we had to wait in his office a long while and explain that to him when he actually came out of his office and gave us a chance. He just always bugs out like he’s a teenager. He’s not professional at all. And when I did the colonoscopy the girl who put the IV in me wasn’t wearing gloves!! He does these colonoscopies in his office itself so it’s very clear to me now that he’s absolutely trying to make $. Most people do not need colonoscopies but the room was filled with people there to get them done. Fishy!! Also when we asked for whatever records he had on me, the first consultation report was completely off. He marked my pain level was 0 when clearly I was so so much pain, it’s why I went to see him. My pain was at 8. And also he made no note of my medical history when I pointed out very important things about my health, he just said it wasn’t relevant or was quiet when I asked him why these things were off on the report. I feel violated by this guy and he’s the absolute worst. Very disturbing and stressful experience and the things he put me through actually made my problems worse!...

We went to Dr. Tong Jing’s office for an endoscopy. All was well with the endoscopy as it was mainly support staff dealing with us. However, when we went in for the results of my mother’s endoscopy today, Dr. Tong Jing was extremely rude, dismissive, and unprofessional. I would say in total, we spent a minute and a half with him before he walked out of the room while I was still speaking. Once he returned he literally said “you’re done” and walked us out. I’ve never had such a bad experience with a doctor. He explained that my mother had a bacteria and told us he was prescribing medication. He interrupted my mom while she tried to ask him a question and insisted that she let him finish. After finishing, he did not ask if we had any questions. We had a million questions but since he began walking out of the room, we had no chance to ask them. My mother had previously been prescribed a medication after a visit to the ER for extreme pain. We had to call 911 twice in one week prior to her endoscopy (zero empathy from Dr. Jing). I didn’t even get to ask if she should continue taking the medication prescribed by the hospital or if it would have an interaction with the new medication he was prescribing. I ended up calling the practice to say that I was very disappointed with how dismissive the doctor was. I asked to speak with someone who could answer our questions since the doctor did not appear to have time for us. They told me that only the doctor could answer questions but that he did not speak with patients over the phone. So this man will not speak with patients in person or over the phone?!? The receptionist told me that my mother should continue to take the medication prescribed at the hospital. I later realized that Dr. Jing had prescribed the same medication she received from the hospital, meaning she did not have to continue taking the old one! They would have known that had they looked her up in their system. I don’t recommend this place at all. This practice does not care about the well being of their patients. They’re clearly more concerned with making money by seeing as many people as possible with minimum patient care. The doctor had even arrived late. If he was late and rushing, that is his own fault and not ours. We paid for his time which he did not give to us. Extremely disappointed. I will be going back to get my mother’s test results so that a real doctor can...
