On June 9 2015, I purchased 2 pair of jeans. I took one with me and one was ordered to be delivered to the store. My new jeans were too tight in the legs so on Monday June 15 with receipts in hand, I was at the Sixth Ave point of purchase at 10 AM. [that morning I called to confirm opening time]. The woman who came to the locked door [a PINK HAIRED CREATURE I later found out was the store manager DEENA] said "We're doing inventory/ it will be a while til we open" Since it was hot out, I asked if I could wait inside. This she allowed. After a while, a passing sales associate said he could help me, I explained that I wanted to switch SIZES on only the PAID FOR!!!!!!! pair of jeans coming into store. "DEENA" from her ladder"doing inventory" decreed "NO, the pair of jeans must arrive at store before any adjustments" I explained that jeans were PAID FOR so I was not asking for anything more than CORRECT PLEASANT CUSTOMER SERVICE. DEENA was RIDGID in her refusal and was a SNARKY B*H TO BOOT. Imagine a STORE MANAGER who cannot or will circumvent paperwork to assist a CUSTOMER. DXL must be "hiring from under rocks" to have found/elevated this "piece of work" to STORE MANAGER. I called the main DXL # to lodge a complaint that Monday and was promised a call back within 48 hours being told "DXL takes complaints seriously". RIGHT, it is now June 18 and no call. GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE AND INTEREST in the way they STAFF THEIR STORES with and tolerate...
Read moreI had an emergency a week ago. There was a death in my family, and this was one time when Amazon could not help me.I remembered a colleague of mine, was always receiving packages from DXL Big & Tall, where you can actually go to in person, be fitted that very same day, and with a little luck walk away with a new suit, which is what happened to me. I had exactly twenty-fours to leave New York City, for Boston, and had not bought a new suit in at least twenty years. One of my problems currently is opposed to Big & Tall. I am Big & Short. I went over to DXL around opening time and got absolute personal attention; from the Assistant Manager Lisa Caines, who kept pulling rabbits out of a hat. My size is 3XL with (I think a 20” neck) Not an easy order to fill but Lisa had me in a suit in about an hour’s time. (with a fantastic tie as well) The suit fit just fine and received compliments at the funeral. It’s great to know that stores like this one still exist. So to “DXL Big & Tall”, and to Lisa Caines, I will be...
Read moreThis is isn't about the experience of the 703 Avenue Store or the one in Bartow which I frequent time to time. This review is about DXL Destination as a whole and its unbelievable insane prices. I find it to be utterly shocking that a store dedicated to clothing bigger men charges 3x-4x more than the average department store.
Further, when you do have a sale it's often for clothes that are XL or below, not exactly your target demographic.
I feel that ya'll rally need to come to the 21st century and begin to offer clothes at different price point. I totally agree that a Polo sweater should not cost the same as say a Henley from a lesser known brand, but damn if everything in this store will put you in...
