Today July 13, 2023, I had one of my worst experiences at Burlington on Sixth Ave . I walked into the store somewhere between. 9:05-9:10am

By the time I made it to the checkout line, it was quite long. There were just 2 cashiers serving which seems to be the norm these days with Burlington stores. Some customers were airing their dissatisfaction, some in agreement that this seems to be the norm at all the locations. You see, some shoppers like myself come to this store before work because of the early morning opening hours. But what is the point in that if one is going to waste so much time at checkout? You might want to consider self-checkout. I visit the various locations both in Brooklyn and the City at least once a week. I am a "loyalty member".

I finally got to the front of the line, the customer at the register had left but the available cashier in my opinon was moving very slowly. She was putting away maybe 2 or 3 items from the previous customer. Just taking her sweet time. It is ridiculous that she did not seem to care that there were just 2 of them serving and the line was so long.

I waited a minute or so then I approached the register. She saw me standing there so at that point she decided it is a good day to ignore me. This particular cashier, an Indian woman wearing a bright yellow blouse, I didn't get her name. You can see that she was being very deliberate about it, walking the length of the checkout counter looking for things to to do while the line is a mile long. Check your cameras! And after wasting all this time she had the audacity to tell me she didn't call me, so I will have to go to the next cashier, who mind you is serving another customer. So there she is trying to punish me by wasting my time, and then refusing to serve me because I had offended her so much by approaching the counter. Well all she accomplished was to punish the other other customers who had been waiting for forever! And having your company lose the sale because I chose to leave the items on the counter for her to put away, because she obviously was not busy enough. How is this behavior okay? Did this person receive any form of training in customer service? You need to do better than have employees with no respect or regard for customers' time. Also those who don't understand that shoppers "choose" to come to your store to spend "their" money. I told her I would report this incident and she said she didn't care!

I help run a small business and I would never tolerate this kind of negative behavior from anyone towards my customers.

The deals at your store are a little bit better on some items than at Marshalls and Tjmaxx but I don't mind paying a little extra because the shopping experience is a lot more pleasant over there.

I. WAS waiting patiently online the individual that allegedly requires medication began to scream at me yell and curse at me and I proceeded to tell the individual that she does not know me that I'm a stranger to her this did not suffice. She increased her hostility and her antisocial behavior by threatening me and verbally harassing me. I went to talk to security personnel yes a lady that has a pistol that says security and she was also badly educated individual. She did not know how to de-escalate and she actually blame me for inciting a conversation with person who's uneducated. Even though I don't know this person and I explained that to the security personnel and she insisted that speaking to the police. Outside was of little resource. I ignore her advice and continue to speak to the NYPD that were outside and told him that I was making a formal complain about this. individual which I feel is a danger to. Herself and to others because of her mannerisms behavior. Question I am REQUESTING the employer of this individual of Burlington coat factory should be removed from the site because she herself like mental understanding. Of protocol and procedure which are necessary tools in verbal communication to deal with such individuals. And sees the. Person that's causing the agitation or rather the agitator. As perfectly fine and someone that should be ignored . Even though I do not know that beforehand. I Explain this to the security how do I know a person is antisocial only to the point. When they begin verbally harassing me it becomes an issue of safety. So this security personnel a female basically blame me. And try to say I was complicit. By provoking a situation. That somehow I was in control of. She is misinformed and needs to be trained properly that people that verbally harass. It doesn't matter if it's a female or a male. Should be DEALT WITH recordingly and yes possibly by making a complaint to NYPD which the security personnel told me to ignore NYPD and and specifically stated what good are they. Because basically she told me they're not good for anything. Burlington coat factory remove this antisocial security personnel that has a license handgun. Before she gets into a confrontation herself with someone that's a mental case. That will result in diet consequences for her safety and for the mental individual. AND OR FOR THE CUSTOMERS THAT MIGHT BE VIEWING SUCH...

I’m writing on behalf of a friend who was too worried about being called a “Karen,” and was honestly just at her wit’s end, to complain to the manager about this, because I have purple hair and I could not care less about being too loud for others. She went to the baby section yesterday and just needed to get her daughter a pair of sandals, and a woman stocking the shelves told her not to GET IN HER WAY. My friend’s best paraphrasing of the woman’s exact words were “you can’t be here right now, I’m working.” My friend (who is Canadian so you KNOW she was nice about it) said “ok, but I came here from across town to get one thing
” and the woman cut her off and said “well I’ve been here since 5am and I need to finish this and you can’t block me.” My friend then did her best to look for sandals quickly, but of course she was flustered and upset, amplified by already having gotten harassed in the park by two separate people simply because NYC can sometimes have it out for you, so she simply went home having not accomplished her goal.

Will she get over it? Of course. Is it the greatest suffering ever experienced by anyone? Of course not. It’s ridiculous when people assume that’s what’s being implied in a complaint. But stores are there to have things BOUGHT from them, so this employee’s concept that her task is more important than that of a paying customer is asinine. It’s entitled, which is a word people love to apply to “Karens.” This woman (according to my friend’s description, most likely Latin or Hispanic and in her 50s
and to anyone who would say it’s racist to assume her ethnicity, go wallow in your wokeness
we can all identify general outlines of ethnicity, and at least we aren’t referencing a color, as is done with Karens
my Ecuadorian boyfriend told me I’m allowed to say all that) should be told that the customer IS NOT always right, in fact sometimes they’re downright rude and unfair and should stand down
but when a customer wants to BUY something politely, they ARE right, and should take priority. I’m emailing corporate as well because this keeps happening to me at stores as well. Hell hath no fury like a woman you labeled a Karen as a muzzle because she has to be...

I used to be a fan of the 6th Ave. Burlington, but through the years it’s just progressively gotten worse. The prices are still good, no doubt about that, but it’s just not worth the aggravation. The place is basically falling apart and understaffed. There’s practically no one working. And, once you’ve found what you’re looking for you’ll spend what seems like an eternity on line. OK, let me back up and elaborate. On my last visit there the escalator wasn’t working and you had to take their decrepit elevator. I found a couple things I wanted, but the fitting room was closed (?). Unable to confirm fit, and making my best sizing estimates, I made my way to pay for the items. Without exaggeration the waiting time on line was 43 mins. The line was ridiculously long and there was mostly one person working, with another cashier coming and going. After getting home and trying on my new clothes I discovered that I got the wrong size and needed to make an exchange. If the fitting room had been opened to begin with it would have saved an extra trip. On the exchange visit the other escalator wasn’t working and this time it was 32 mins waiting on line. Burlington; HIRE MORE PEOPLE. If you’re having trouble attracting and retaining help it might be because you need to pay a fair wage. This mentality seems to ring true throughout because at the Burlington across from the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, it’s the same nonsense. While you can sometimes find good deals at Burlington, I wouldn’t recommend this one because they don’t respect their customers time. You shouldn’t be waiting on line for 43 and then 32 mins to buy a couple shirts. The place is falling apart, in disrepair, and understaffed. There are plenty of places to shop in the City, but this one, I’m sorry to say, should be avoided.
