I’ll start off by saying that I was SUPER excited to do a shoot here because a friend of mine came here to be in a music video that was shot here some time ago. So when I found the studio I wanted I was ALL FOR booking. Upon arriving my team was lost because there was no BIG SIGNAGE outside to let ppl know where to ENTER so we ended up going to main office which costs us time. Gladly the receptionist there was able to help me and book me for a different studio so I could still get the alotted time I paid for and things were kosher for the moment. The studio didn’t have a bed but we could make the couch and other props in the room work so who cares.
When we finally get to the warehouse we spoke with Olga I believe her name is and she directed us to the studio. As my team was setting up they noticed that the couch was broken as shown in the pictures below. When someone from my team went to ask for assistance with the broken couch they gave him royal blue painters tape. The guy said when he informed them about the broken couch she didn’t seem surprised. (Why would you let someone rent a space with broken furniture/ equipment that’s hazardous).Wow. When they tried to use the tape ofcourse it didn’t work. So I went to the deak and told her we need to swap couches and that nobody should be using the broken couch because it’s a safety issue. She agreed and let me swap out a couch, cool. Also I forgot to mention the room didn’t have curtains and they gave me ONE styrofoam board to cover it even though the studio came with 2 HUGE windows. We ended up using old black background paper to cover one of the windows and had to shut off all the lights to get a good photo because of the glare from outside. Overall experience 4/10. I was hoping for a lot better but hey, you get what you pay for. 139& for 4 hrs and with a team like mine we were gonna make MAGIC regardless. If you do use their services be prepared for a couple bumps...
Read moreI have rented a lot at the Los Angeles location which the location and all stuff is amazing there but NEW YORK needs to really get it together. The employee “Tre” is absolutely the epitome of the worst type of person to be working in customer service. He rushed my session and lied and said I was the last person there and he was ready to go home so I needed to finish and couldn’t extend time. I would think as a business the objective is to make money so if a client needs to extend and there are no other rentals behind mine then it’s common sense to make the business more money. On top of that it was two other studios occupied still doing shoots so IT WAS A LIE! He then told me my total and I proceeded to pay cash to avoid the extra fees that come with paying with a card, but guess who didn’t have change? I handed him 160 and my charge was 150 and he told me he don’t have change so I suggested to just put the extra ten dollars on my account for some other time and he refused and ask me to pay with card so I gave him my card and he proceeded to try and charge me extra fees for using the card when HE the one didn’t even have change to begin with. That is just piss poor business practice as well as customer service. He was rude and lackluster the whole day and several clients complained as well as my celebrity clients who he left outside buzzing for over 30 minutes because he was no where to be found nor at front desk. I had to call the LA location to get help getting in. Absolutely ridiculous. I asked for management contact to file a complaint and he told me I need to get the hell out. REALLY?! I DEMAND HIM BE FIRED. I will be reporting this everywhere and my clients are filing official...
Read moreUpon arrival to the studio the receptionist wasnt very welcoming it was kind of a hi wait time is your appointment doors on the right. When my party arrived in the room (Astoria 6), the floors were dirty i mean to the point when we took off our shoes to change our feet were black from the dirt. There was a basket like chair but it need a major paint job, im not sure if they were going for a rustic look but wasnt good. I asked in the booking for a backdrop it wasnt set up when we arrived so i had to then take time out of my shoot to go to the receptionist and request it. He came in brought the backdrop and materials and left it there. We didnt know how to put it together he assumed we did and got mad when we asked him to do it. He took 15 mins at least to put it together (again this coming out of our booking time). We didnt get to finish our shoot like we planned or even use the backdrop because the other booking came to the door and rushed us out the receptonist said to us "Yall seriously gotta get out of here" HOW RUDE when he inconvienced us. On top of that idk how the booking was on top of each other when COVID is going on there is supposed to be at least a 20-30 min lapse to sanitize but that wasnt the case. We will not be returning they were rude, dirty and unwelcoming I know its an abandoned buliding but it doesnt have to...
