I visited this place last week for the first time. Bartender with red hair greeted me with a smile & helped me order a drink. I paid for my drink in cash & tipped. I sat down. My phone died, I asked the male bartender if they had a cell charger, they didn’t but he told me stores nearby might carry the cord and he can charge my cell if I find one. I took a sip & asked him to hold the drink by the bar so I can go look for a charger. It took many minute before I returned to the bar. I sat back down & the red hair lady handed me the drink that was paid for. I chatted a bit and I asked if I could order food, they told me they didn’t serve food, but I can grab food at their sister bar, the Baruness (very salty burger, macaroni and cheese tasted like water). I finished my drink & left to go eat. A few days later, I was passing by the bar, decided to grab a drink. I stood by the window to order & immediately the red hair lady who was mixing a drink by the bar shouted, you didn’t pay for your drink the other day. She seemed so excited, I thought she was saying hi, but soon realized what she was saying. Confused, I told her I paid for my one drink, I paid cash. she insisted I didn’t pay with no real explanation, said they will add the charge now with whatever I order. I was confused. It was embarrassing her shouting and if I wanted to communicate I had to shout back. Not a professional way to deal with a situation like this, she could have finished her business behind the bar and came by the window to talk with me. I was caught off guard with an accusation that didn’t make sense. I thought did she mistake the initial order, I had it held at the bar when I left to look for a charger, did she think when I came back that was a second order? I couldn't even ask that, I couldn’t hold any conversation without shouting so I just agreed to pay. the new lady by the order window, said okay that will be $32 dollars. What kind of charge was that? I pulled out $32, completely confused what they were charging. I was stupid, I paid & left a tip. I walked away bothered because nothing made sense. I felt taken advantage of. I had to go back to make sense out of it all, I tryied to privately talk with the red hair lady to find out why I got overcharged, was it an incorrect charge for 3 drinks, or the bigger question why she thought I didn't pay in the first place. I even apologized to explain I never not pay for a bill to highlight she might have made a mistake. she offered no real explanation. She said It happens and said the $32 charge probably included the tip & the tax. She didn't take my concern seriously, I told her I tipped separately & the math doesn’t add up. she went to the cash register & moved the monitor towards me & said see. I guess i'm being taken for a fool because there was nothing on that screen showing my itemized purchase. She said the math made sense. She could have printed my receipt to show me if it was an honest charge. At that point, it was getting messy, nothing made sense & patrons were staring. I just wanted to get some clarity for myself, so I asked to order the drink to see how they charge. I told her I liked it & she charged me $12, the same as my charge during my first visit , no tax. My conclusion, I got played. she mistook me for ordering a second drink on my first visit and even if we let that slide, I was overcharged for two drinks that day. the math: $12 x 2 drinks equal $24 plus $1 chips = $25. If we even add tax, never been charged tax on a drink but she claims was included in the $32 charge, that would be around $2 = $27. Still doesn’t explain why I was charged $32? That is a $7 overcharge. The way they do business is not honest. I am mad at myself for being intimidated during the entire conversation & agreeing to whatever she said even if I knew things were incorrect. I saw other reviews on yelp google that also have similar issues like being charged for wrong bill. Be careful how they charge you! I only tried 1 type of drink, it was ok but the last drink was made horrible. Not honest, Not...
Read moreWent here on a Saturday night to enjoy some wine with the Mrs. and a good friend. We were here at around 7:15 pm and got a nice table for three with high chairs.
We ordered 2 bottles of wine Super Tuscan ($48), & Pinot Noir ($40) which were both great!
The wings here are to die for. We got the Spicy, Nashville Style Hot Sauce wings ($13) which were absolutely amazing. We ordered these twice! We also got the Snow wings (White BBQ sauce) ($12) which we didn't really enjoy much, only because the spicy wings were packed with flavor and spice! Hadrian, our server asked us to rate these wings in terms of level of spice on a scale of 10, and we gave it an 8 - so order it only if you have tolerance for spice.
Contrary to negative reviews for this place, we had a great experience at the Huntress and our servers Hadrian and Sean were warm and welcoming and gave us excellent service. Our only problem was with the loud music, so I wish the music was a little less loud so one could have conversations with friends without screaming! Of course, we didn't really tell them to reduce the volume, so just a suggestion!
Will definitely visit again, especially for their amazing...
Read moreFrom outside it looks cozy, dim lighting and character draws you in through the door. You’ll be greeted, checked for vax against the ugly beast we have become so familiar with. As you plop yourself onto a bar stool you see whisky heaven. Grab yourself the the Black Forest run for a crafted cocktail👌 pop onto the food menu through conveniently located discs upon the bar. Poutine, churro tots, nachos! We got the nachos and poutine with fried chicken. Impressive would be an understatement. Next on the drink list would be the aviatrix with the mezcal. I chose to pair that with the Smokey wings, what can I say I’m a smoky kind of guy! And I had to get the seafood burger, can’t remember the name? Maybe Stevie? Yea let’s call her Stevie. The horseradish tar tar made this burger stand out and complimented all the flavors of the shrimp and salmon. I wish I had that recipe. I love a good seafood burger, but now I know how to satisfy that hunger. Great place for the neighborhood. Look forward to being a frequent flyer and I can’t wait to make it over to their sister spot...
