Dirty and crowded. Little seating available at any major food spots like Starbucks, McDonald's, Popeyes due to occupation by loiterers, both homeless and non-homeless. Huge gobs of gross spit or tissues on the ground so it's best to not bring anything rolling like luggage as it will touch the wheels or base of the cart depending on how close it is to the ground. Most of the Chinese I've met are nice but there are a few rude/racist ones. At Flushing library there was a Chinese guard doing a 'shoo' motion at me as if I'm some dog. So degrading (I'm Indian). And the library was still open for another 10 minutes. The staff can be really ghetto regardless of race. They love to gossip and be loud in the library. Due to budget cuts they're hiring bottom of the barrel employees and also cutting library hours so Mayor Adams can use that money to pay for his lavish vacations for himself and his staff. Just get out of NYC while you can.
It's extremely crowded any day the weather is nice, you can barely walk because people stop in the middle of the sidewalk with grocery carts, homeless people with all their bags and carts, cops, street vendors, Ubereats people with their motorbikes, etc. The area in front of McDonald's is the worst.
The only redeemable area is Booth Memorial Ave 2 stops away, lined with quiet, quaint houses. It's a peaceful neighborhood, very quiet. There was a Western Beef nearby which went out of business I guess because it's more American and the residents...
