Since there is no email address to contact, I am leaving my feedback here. It’s close to where I work, so I come here almost every day. The staff are usually very friendly. However, on this particular day, my total was about $9(This supermarket has a policy of accepting only cash for purchases under $10), so I brought cash $20. but the cashier said I could use a card, but I paid in cash anyway. Then he threw my change at me, which was shocking and disrespectful. I needed $1 bills instead of a $5 bill, so I asked for change. He again tossed the money at me with an unpleasant attitude. I told him that I’m a regular customer here, but before I could finish, he rudely said, “I don’t care.”
I was so offended that I asked for a return, and he processed it immediately. I asked for his name — it was Hiroshi, a man wearing a turquoise silver ring. When I asked if he was the owner, he said no.

Walked into the store at 7:40pm, and got on line at 7:45 after picking up my items. There were absolutely zero employees at the register despite there already being a sizable line, which only got longer as it was approaching 8pm, when the store sells bento and onigiri at half price. A friend told me that people often choose to wait until the half off promotion starts before buying their items, but as someone who has worked in service and hospitality for over a decade, ANY establishment, be it a convenience store, fast food joint, or restaurant should be embarrassed to provide service like this. (Or rather, the...
Read moreEvery single night at 8pm, people line up to get sushi, bentos, onigiri, and more at 50% off from Genkiya Mart, a Japanese grocery store in SoHo. Come a bit earlier to choose what items you want for dinner (or lunch the next day) and wait until 8pm to check out. There’s going to be a long checkout line, but it moves fast! The staff are friendly, the mart is well organized, and there are two clean tables inside that you can eat at. The avocado they use in their food items is so creamy and soft. This may be one of the best sushi deals in NYC and is a solid option for a quick grab-and-go meal in Manhattan.
What we got: (2) sushi boxes: eel avocado & spicy tuna with salmon avocado (1) rice dish: chicken karaage don (2) onigiris: Shrimp tempura & lobster onigiri Total:...
