This supermarket is by far the worst I have ever visited. Upon entering, there are security staff stationed at the front, and while a couple of them are friendly, the older employees seem to give you a look that suggests they despise your very presence. This sentiment extends to the bakery, sandwich, and juice bar section of the store. The gazes they give you are so peculiar, leaving you unsure whether they suspect you of theft or simply harbor a profound hatred for people.
Pricing: The prices here are exorbitant, making it the most expensive supermarket in the area. At one point, they attempted to sell eggs for $15 per container. Their items frequently spoil, be it fruits covered in mold, salads infested with mold, or dairy products just a few days away from expiration. They even sell expired goods! The irony is that they refuse refunds without a receipt, so make sure to keep your receipts until you've inspected your purchases. At one point, they even inflated the prices of their bags. They would excessively bag your items and charge 25 cents per tote bag. Ironically, one of the front "security" guards praised the cashier for this practice, while they were overcharging for the bags!
You'll consistently come across sales on items nearing their expiration dates, typically only a day or two away.
The positive aspects are that the supermarket is conveniently located for a significant portion of Bay Ridge, and the store itself is clean. However, the pricing, food quality, and the staff, particularly their "security" personnel, are utterly unacceptable. It genuinely fills me with dread whenever I have to step foot in this store. It's only worth considering for emergencies or...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis grocery store offers poor quality and service at super high prices. The greatest irony is the name. The items sold here are neither gourmet nor fresh. Iāve wasted money several times and gone home to find rotten eggs, mold in packaged strawberries, etc. Itās super exhausting. I want to think I was wrong but too many times Iāve gotten priced more than what the price tag indicated, OR the person at checkout would charge me twice for something I was only buying one of. You want to believe itās a coincidence but how many times should it happen? And with this last interaction Iāve had enough. The girls behind the checkout counter were incredibly rude. Chatting and eating, ignoring the line, one even spit the pit of an olive into a trash bin. I looked at them in confusion like is anyone working here? And they responded rudely of course. Told me they were so obviously not open for service. How should I know that? Theyāre standing behind a checkout counter. Naturally I assumed they were working⦠If they canāt take a proper meal break then thatās really unfortunate but ignoring a line full of waiting customers is just absurd. This place isnāt worth it at all. Go buy fresh food for less...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI found this play accidentally while walking the neighborhood. I was very impressed on how well it is organized and everything looks so fresh and amazingly in order. First thing called my attention was the baby shopping cart in red ,soo cute!! The prices are good, specially the fruits. Everything is by section so you won't be having a hard time looking for items. The meet dept. although small ,look good. The tea section has a big variety and the dairy section is cool. They also have homemade salads and rotisserie chicken. The girls at the register were nice and friendly. On my way out I was surprised to see they sell beautiful flowers for great prices. I got white Pom-poms and miniatures carnations ea bunch for 8.00 ,normally 10.00 in any other place . A one stop great small ...
