I have been on 2 free tours ( Tips are so important) Both were scheduled with Guru tours. NYC AREA has so much to offer for visitors and people who live here. It is a must Bucket List. These guides have learened alot and want to share with us. Plus AS A Solo traveler I luv meeting people from other parts of the world. Any place you can sign up for a walking tour of the place you are visiting, you will enjoy it. Wear comfortable walking shoes, eat before tour, carry water and DO NOT FORGET TO TIP YOUR GUIDE. Also bring patients, a smile, camera and your willingness to listen to the Guide about any and all of the tour. I am so glad Jon Noto was my guide, but they all deserve a shot out. BUCKET LIST FOR SURE. BIG Mahalo to TOURS IN NyC...

Don’t miss this tour!

This a lovely tour! New York has such rich history with so many chapters across the last 400 years that makes it so interesting. This tour captures the genesis of New York and it is literally walk down the lanes of the past. We see places that mark the independence of USA, how NYC evolved into the metropolis it is today. We also see spots where famous movies were shot. The tour guide Jon is passionate and excited to answer all questions you have! The tour ends at the WTC, where we learn about the treacherous 9/11 attacks and how the city and its essential services worked relentlessly to get the city...

Jackson Heights: It’s Cooler in Queens” with Steve: We had a great time on this tour! Steve met us at Grand Central and even started things off by showing us the Whispering Wall — a fun surprise. Then we hopped on the 7 train to Jackson Heights, where we explored a vibrant neighborhood full of diverse cultures and flavors. Steve was an excellent guide, sharing tons of food recommendations — from Tibetan momos and Bengali phuchkas to the best Colombian bakeries and Mexican street food. After the tour, we tried several of the food trucks he pointed out, and everything was absolutely delicious. 10 out of 10 —...

As an Astorian for a few years, I wanted to see my own neighborhood through new eyes and this tour did that! The areas I saw weren't my usual walk areas so, much of this was new to me. Especially little Egypt and the Beer Garden. Alison's knowledge of the history of Astoria and Queens is rightly timed and creates a narrative of how Astoria came to be today (like, how Astor funded it but didn't live here). The food selections are both classics (Andrew Bellucci) and a different perspective (Little Egypt dessert) that fit well together. Overall, a wonderful experience!
