Save yourself the trouble and avoid this place. I came in at 6:25 PM — and while my barber was excellent and accommodating, the overall environment was extremely unprofessional.
It was clear the other barbers were eager to leave. They started complaining in Russian (even though the shop didn’t close until 7 PM) and pressured my barber about how long he would take, clearly trying to rush him through my haircut. It created an uncomfortable atmosphere.
When it was time to pay, a barber named Cleo rudely questioned my barber about the service I received. After he correctly said it was a basic haircut, Cleo insisted I had a beard trim and tried to upcharge me. I immediately told Cleo, face-to-face, that this was absolutely not true — there was no beard trim, no shaving cream, no hot towel, nothing. I also made it clear that I was rushed through the service because I was seen as an inconvenience.
Despite that, they initially tried to charge me $128. After I disputed the charge directly with Cleo, she reduced it to $97 after tax. I only paid it out of respect for my barber, who handled the situation professionally and was not at fault.
If you’re going to charge premium prices, customers deserve professionalism and honesty. Any internal issues between staff should be handled privately — not in front of clients, and certainly not by trying to upcharge customers.
There are plenty of better barbershops with healthier cultures. This one is not worth your...
Read moreAt first, I liked the haircut—it looked good. But when I got home and looked closer, I realized that instead of blending my beard into the bald fade like he said, he had trimmed down the entire beard. It left me looking like I had just a goatee instead of a full beard. I didn’t notice right away because I was distracted by the fade, which he did well, but blending the top near the ear shouldn’t mean cutting down the whole beard. I should’ve spoken up, but since it was my birthday trip and he’d already started, I figured there wasn’t much I could do. Unfortunately, over the next few days, I really grew to hate the beard cut. Thanks for ruining my beard for my birthday trip, man… I would likely never go back if I’m ever in town but I highly recommend to all other to CLEARLY explain what you want as English isn’t the first language of the barbers. Make sure to be clear and concise bc I believe Nico...
Read moreFind this place by just doing a Random Google search. Cool atmosphere pretty low-key. Showed up as a walk-in and they were able to give me a cut which was great. The barbers name was Avi I believe. Show him what I wanted and it went pretty well for the most part. He cut it a little too short and kind of gave me a weird square cut then when I actually asked for but I let it go and then I asked him to line up my beard which he did and then he shaved my neck which I didn’t ask for. I just figured he was doing it for the hell of it but then proceeded to charge me the extra for it when I didn’t ask for it. A little annoyed but it’s something I expect in NYC. 74$ is a bit too much for just a basic cut and shave 🪒. Especially when I didn’t ask for it. makes me glad I don’t live in New York. Dos...
