I had the absolute pleasure of working with the incredibly talented fashion designer, Harleen Kaur to bring my dream wedding dress and mehndi dress to life. From start to finish, Harleen's attention to detail and unwavering commitment to perfection made my experience truly remarkable.

Throughout the entire process, Harleen consistently checked in with me, ensuring that my vision was being translated into reality. Had a poor experience with the team at Harleen Kaur. Excited by what we saw online, my wife and I travelled from a far to have her wedding outfits made. My wife tried on something in-store, had measurements taken and pinned by staff then and there.

After travelling home, we requested a quote to purchase, we agreed and paid in full.

A few weeks later, HK’s team asks my wife to take more measurements ourselves. We questioned why this was necessary as what we tried on in store fit almost perfect with some minor adjustments. HK told us that measurements and pinning taken by her team, on their in-store garment, were apparently “not sufficient.

Based on HK’s direction, we begrudgingly took measurements ourselves with virtual guidance from HK staff on two different occasions. We hoped, by fulfilling HK’s request for additional measurements, we would get the best fit - and reminded her, we’re not professionals to take measurements.

Fast forward a few months later, a few hundred dollars more from us for shipping insurance (suggested by HK), we received the outfits. One was a perfect fit, the other was way off, much larger in several locations on the garment.

Going back and forth via email with HK, we had a local tailor pin and provide a quote for alterations, $350 USD. We provided this info to HK, suggested a compromise, and they offered only $50USD towards the bill. We also offered to provide the tailors’s notes and pictures as back-up.

We really wanted to come away with a positive experience, but the process after we left the shop was mismanaged, unclear and not at all in the spirit of providing adequate customer service. In these situations, I believe more reputable brands would be willing to at minimum meet halfway on alteration costs.

I wore a customized Harleen Kaur jumpsuit to my wedding, and it is not an exaggeration to say it was the star of the show. When I first saw the fabric, I absolutely fell in love and ended up designing the rest of the wedding (flowers, rentals, paper goods) all around the colors. After we selected the jumpsuit, we ended up having Harleen and team design custom dresses for my sister, mom, and niece and nephew (our “flower kids”). Each piece was high-quality, beautifully detailed, and unique.

Harleen and her team were true partners throughout the entire wedding planning process. I was constantly impressed by their creativity, including in problem solving and how professional and upfront they were about all design decisions and costs throughout the process. Most of all, Harleen and her team are deeply empathetic and kind - through the ups and downs of wedding planning, Harleen and team were always patient with my many questions and thoughtful in their responses.
