Okaaaaaay, I wanna stay short and sweet and I will have such a hard time!!! I did give yoga a try and never ended with a membership at other studios. It’s once I walked into Heatwise right after pandemic reopening….. It’s everything - from the light of the place and every thoughtful little detail to my amazing amazing teachers (that part needs a whole book) to front desk ladies to owner herself - what a tribe (and family) I’ve gotten myself!…….. There were days (and weeks) when I sobbed at the end of every class, there were days when I felt strong and powerful, there were days when I thought I got it and then I realised that it was just a scratch in my practice. There are days when I walk in and I am happy and a whole life can happen in 5 minute exchange and we all burst into loud laughter. And there are days, when I walked in crying, because my heart was broken and my wings needed mending and I received so much light and love, I felt my heart would burst. I learned inversions and accepting things my body (and mind) has to be patient with. But the most amazing thing is - learning to accept myself on this journey we call life - and I get to bring whatever is happening in my life to the mat and leave - calmer, in peace. This little safe harbor in Brooklyn Heights has a little piece of my soul in spot 10 (mixed with so much sweat and tears:). In case I need to spell it more clearly - I love Heatwise and - common over...
Read moreThe studio is extremely nice and clean, a bit small tho. The girl at the front desk (blond long hair) is also very sweet and welcoming. Now it only gets 1 star because: The teacher SARAH.S did not acknowledge me ONCE; didn’t ask if I had any surgeries, if I needed readjustment or how did I find the class at the end. Nothing, it felt like she was not comfortable with me being there. She totally ignored me, not even a bye while I stood there next to her for a minute just to engage. Yoga teachers are supposed to be caring for their students. I will take my other class but making sure Sarah will not lead. I’m black & overweight thankfully confortable in my skin. I was the only one there with these criterias But it felt like Sarah was bothered by my presence. I practice Bikram yoga (which was not mentioned at check in) so thankfully for ME I knew a bit about hot yoga and how to adjust to my hips surgery. I could be anyone, and deserve the same respect and treatment than others. Because someone doesn’t look like the type of people you usually hang out with doesn’t mean they are not good enough! WE ALL START SOMEWHERE. So much...
Read moreAs a long-time member of Heatwise Yoga, I can honestly say it's more than just a studio – it's a real community. From the moment you walk in, the super welcoming staff makes you feel right at home. They actually take the time to get to know everyone, which creates such a personal and inviting vibe.
The studio itself is super calming with a great vibe. The instructors are all amazing. Each one brings their own style and energy, so you get a diverse mix of flows and never get bored. They're not just leading classes; they genuinely care about your progress, taking the time to connect with members and help them deepen their practice.
Honestly, I couldn't ask for a better studio or community. Every class at Heatwise is an...
