I arrived with my friend for a 90 minute head/scalp massage which included a face mask, an upper body massage, steam, and hair wash. They welcomed us nicely and offered water before and after our appointment. The space is very clean with nice beds. However, I couldn’t communicate with my masseuse and throughout the entire treatment, she was very forceful and applied way too much pressure. I left with a very sore head and back. I tried to politely tell her to soften up a bit but she didn’t seem to understand me. She pressed extremely hard into my temples and shoulder blades over and over. The hair wash felt like she was trying to hand-wash laundry rather than deliver a soothing experience. The water was often burning hot which I was able to successfully communicate to her, but after a brief switch to cooler water, it would then return to the same burning temperature. My masseuse also talked and laughed throughout most of the treatment with her coworkers which was bothersome. At the end, they sat us up, delivered a final shoulder massage but then very forcefully beat their fists up and down our back to signal an end to the treatment. Afterwards, they quickly blow dried our hair for us which I appreciated. I felt that the masseuse was very nice until at the end when I handed her a $15 tip (treatment was $75), and she appeared to laugh. I couldn’t understand what she said but I felt uncomfortable. The business sits next to a few others which all share a very small parking lot - a positive for anyone driving unless it’s blocked. I wanted to give feedback immediately but they were standing in front of their manager/employer and I didn’t want to be rude. I’d just advise the business to give feedback to their masseuses and let them know that a spa-type treatment is meant to be slow, intentional, and soothing - not forceful...
Read moreThis place is a SCAM!They forced you to give them $20 tips for $50 service (which is 40% tips ) !!!!!!!! Don’t trust good reviews, they hired fake person to write fake good review ! Before I went there, I specifically asked if I could pay by card. When I arrived, there was not a single customer in the store. The sister who did my hair treatment was okay, but the disgusting part was about a Chinese male cashier there. He initially asked me to transfer the money directly to him, which I refused, insisting on paying by card. The hair treatment cost $50, and I was prepared to give the sister a 25-30% tip. However, the male cashier insisted that the tip must be $20, not a percentage. This was the first time I heard such a demand in the U.S. He even lied, saying that all stores in Flushing have this rule of a $20 mandatory tip, which I've never encountered in other stores or restaurants in Flushing. I paid with my card and eventually left a $15 tip on the bill. The cashier said the tip and the price for the treatment had to be charged together, not separately. It was utterly DISGUSTING! That Chinese male cashier had prominent ears. Never go to that store....
Read moreIt was overall a great experience! We were served with water right on arrival. We chose the massage without the essential oils as it was more for our need to get into the knots rather than relaxation, along with the scalp therapy.
Attentive and friendly staff, frequently asked if pressure was good or not and would recommend/focus on knots. I felt like the scalp therapy was not as mature in techniques as I know it is still new and not as popular compared to china. We were also given dessert at the end of service.
We paid a good amount of tips. Please discard about them forcing you to pay tip because I think it is appropriate to pay at least $20 tip for an...
