This place is wonderful! It has exceeded my expectations in every way. I’ve seen two psychiatrists and a therapist here for 19 months. The psychiatrists are compassionate, warm, professional, experienced, and really know their medicine. They listen to what I have to say, follow up carefully to verify that my meds are working, and monitor diligently for side effects. My therapist is one of the best I’ve ever had. I already had established mental health care before coming here, so I was able to shop around at other places in the area and can confirm that this is one of the best options. JHMC is a teaching hospital but medical students and residents don’t seem to do rotations at this clinic, so you’ll see an attending physician who has been there and will be there for a long time- much better continuity of care! The clinic offices are definitely no-frills but I think almost all appointments are done via telehealth. I’ve only had to go there in person once. There are multiple ways to make contact with your psychiatrist and every time I’ve called the front desk I’ve gotten a very prompt response. Also, I think there’s no internal “gatekeeping” of the psychiatrists like at many other places (meaning you can make a psychiatrist appointment directly without having to go through an evaluation period with a therapist first.) They’ve helped me so much and in my opinion are providing a level of care that equals (and in some cases surpasses) what I’ve experienced with expensive private/boutique psychiatrists. I definitely recommend...
Read moreHoly cow if I can give negative I will, for starters I been with them for 4 years, and as a hypochondriac is hard for me to seek help as trust is a huge issue in life, unfortunately this hospital proved me right. I was assigned DR Rose Michels and even though she’s a sweet lady, she was permanently medicating me with no therapy. We would speak once in a blue and the questions would be are you feeling okay? Are you suicidal? How’s your anxiety? Pass that she would just say here 40-80mg of Fluoxetine and it was the same rinse and repeat pattern for those years. One day I tried to get my meds and was told that my case has been abruptly stop, now imagine that being given a medication for years to just stop because and I quote “we have not communication since July 2023 mind you this entire time I’m getting my meds in and out and when I tried to explain to the doctor she put the blame on me. There was never a MyChart notification never a call to my emergency contact and that I would have to restart the process over again. It’s so sad and shows why ppl decide to self Medicate or worst! Please retire Dr michels your past your time and your not motivated you feed me pills for years only to have someone told to stop cold turkey is insane and insensitive, I hate to be this person but your messing with my life and my mental state. Please do your research and get your self someone more credible and not someone with low reviews I blame myself but it cannot excuse the medical treatment I got....
Read moreZero stars if possible. Horrible service and doctors. Run from this place!! No call backs, the doctors are quacks. After waiting almost 2 months for an appointment and previous provider ( no longer on my insurance) sent them my records and medication list, I finally get a telehealth appointment, discuss my history my medications. She confirms my pharmacy, says she will send my prescription. Gine,? Not a chance, after a week of no call back, I'm told no medication will be provided as they are concentrating on parients being released. What?? After 2 hours, I'm told that they do at least 2 intake visits before they consider you a patient of record?? It doesn't matter that I was under the care of a physician previously. I was literally crying at the end of the multiple conversations. I feel sorry for suicidal patients, they would the deed with all hoops you have to jump through to...
