JPG Legal — Local services in New York

No kidding, I was scrolling Facebook one night and saw a reference or advertisement for a company that does U.S. Trademark filing. So I read their ad, back searched some reviews, and for "one low price" thought I'd give it a try.

I had a unique brand I wanted Trademarked and even though I had my doubts about it ever really happening, I paid the JPG LEGAL fee, filled out their submission form and waited. Their website made it clear these processes are not fast.

I sort of lost track of time when one day I got an email requesting further information and details, and was told the filing would be happening soon, but their thorough research and opinion let me know right up front my brand was doubtful.

A few more months go by and I received an email that my trademark has been accepted by the U.S. Trademark office for review, then later approved, then later a period for anyone to contest my right to the trademark.

I checked the USPTO website and sure enough my stuff was there, meanwhile I am starting to get junk mail from Trademark protection companies offering their $$$! services to protect my new trademark!

Almost a year from seeing their little ad somewhere I get an email that my trademark is official and all mine. Yup, official and all mine. JPG Legal did exactly what they said, charged exactly what they quoted, communicated every long step of the way, and a year later GRIME & VANITY brand is all mine.(insert REGISTERED symbol here)

This was a cool experience. p.s. I followed them on Facebook and saw they were real people sprucing up a small office in a big city and had real lives and were real people.

I am one satisfied customer. p.s. the logo associated with my brand is still in process but I can see it is filed and running the slow government course.

We were told the term we wanted in our trademark is taken but they still were recommending we file—clearly so they pocket the money, this was a red flag but I considered it nevertheless. We told them we’re no longer interested in pursuing the trademark and to refund us. It’s been days and they’re arguing with us wanting to keep $399 for their “consultation” and $75 for cease and desist letter for Trademark we don’t even want to file, $35 processing fees. The cease and desist letter for a trademark we don’t have because we canceled it bc it’s taken. They say we have to pay for that letter because it’s automated & they emailed the letters (not even unique to us) when I checked the box I wanted cease- letter WITH my trademark (not without a trademark-what am I ceasing without a trademark?) so they want to charge for their automated email of a service I canceled and don’t need those documents (again because it’s not available to trademark). This is a bit cheap and I expected better from what I thought were professionals.

I initially thought I’d return for a different term in the future but after this treatment, seeing how money hungry and not service oriented, I realized it’s not aligned, unfortunately. I would pay for 15 min- hour consult of $250/hr. To hear term not available—that’s fair. But expecting people to file for taken trademark and to pay for canceled trademark file, plus extra fees because it’s automated on their-end is absurd. $399 plus $75 and $35 feels like nickel-and-diming. It’s been 3 days and no refund for canceled...

If you’re the least bit serious about that trademark filing. In my personal experience of being a client/customer of JPG Legal, there is absolutely and positively; no other firm that will help guide you through this very challenging process.

Is filing a trademark easy? YES. You should, however really consider what follows which is one very diligent and arduous process. That is where you’ll definitely need JPG Legal to help guide you through the progression and therefore, totally relieve you of all of your legal headaches, worries and stress.

Now, if you’d like to save a few bucks and hire one those cookie-cutter legal firms online, and one in particular that comes to mind represented and defended an obviously; guilty on all accounts criminal (just my personal opinion and freedom of speech), that was released because: Only one thing just did not fit? Or, has it been that long that we just forget?
