This is a great store. They have a really great selection -- as others have said, it's curated rather than comprehensive, so instead of having a huge space with everything under the sun, it's a carefully chosen set of high quality toys. To me this makes sense -- if you're looking for something specific (pink Groucho Marx glasses?) then you'll probably just buy it online. I go to Kidding Around when I want to buy "a toy" but I'm not sure what -- they always have lots of cool options to consider. The people I have dealt with are helpful and knowledgable. If you're a tourist visiting NYC and you want to go to a giant toy emporium that will make you dizzy, maybe go to FAO or Toys-R-Us in Times Square. Read moreThey're absolutely the best. Their customer service are so amazing. There is this one lady, that works there name Ingresia, oh my God is she helpful or is she helpful...😅... I walked in there not completely sure what to buy and she help me out so very well. She helped me with finding 12 toys for my 4 kids, 3 toys per child. The owner is also very amazing, she stop her office work just to come and offer a good suggestion when we were stuck of decisions. That the other thing, there were so much different varieties to choose from. After paying, the gorgeous ladies in front by the register even offer to wrap them for me and with different colors ribbons according to age and gender. I walked in thinking I'd be in and out in 15 mins, but leave 2 hours later.. Place was wonderful, love the atmosphere ❤️ and beautiful...

No one ever approached me or even acknowledged me. The store is quite small so I could hear the employees asking everyone else if they needed help as they walked in and while looking around. At least 3 employees saw me. I went in as someone recommended some learning books and games for my 4 year old. Finally found them and I was so mad I wasnt going to spend my money there. I googled the product and found them on Amazon for cheaper. So much for trying to keep small businesses alive. I'm all for that but when it's made difficult I will Google.. What a shame as I wished I could find a spot I could walk into with my child to see her eyes light up. Would have been...
