I come here when I need a reliable space to do work and grab a bite & bev - soy cortado, oat matcha, or chai latte. For a chain cafe, the baristas actually make good drinks! The food never misses—as a vegan, it’s nice they have options. Vegan bagel and avocado toast are pretty nice but expensive!
Cons: This location tends to play obnoxious 2010s pop songs that aren’t conducive to a warm cafe atmosphere. Just doesn’t match the vibe and makes it hard to focus on your conversation or your work. (This seems to be an NYC thing.) no wifi either.
The prices are pretty high here, as well. I guess that’s to be expected with the economic crisis we’re in right now.
Post-pandemic, cafés need to be better about defaulting to ceramic mugs/reusable ware. Seeing people sit at the tables (not taking their drink to-go) while sipping through plastic is so silly and wasteful. It’d be great if they could ask, “would you like that for here or to go?” Rather than sticking everything in plastic automatically. It’d show more commitment to their “reuse. Swap. Stay. Reduce cup waste and save $.50” signage.
I also wonder if the staff here kinda hate their jobs? They’re always a little low energy, like this is just another job. They don’t greet customers with enthusiasm, but they’re always amiable enough. I think they need to get paid more. I don’t blame them. I think there’s a disconnect in the company’s ethos of sustainability and social issues and the way the shops are actually run. There’s probably not a great sense of company culture, since it’s a chain. It just feels like this place doesn’t have a through-line of identity, and the staff couldn’t really care less/aren’t passionate...
Read moreTL;DR: Small specialty coffee shop with ok coffee and disappointing tea selections raises their prices without notifying customers and staff didn’t really seem to care that that was not ok. The small (8 oz) hot coffee is now $3 and it’s not worth it. No free wifi, snacks ok (overpriced) and the manager/staff is not really that friendly.
I used to come here everyday for a year before work and sometimes at lunch because they had ok specialty coffee and good tea selections at a good price. However, yesterday they raised their price AGAIN for the second within a year without prior warning to customers. Their 8oz(small) hot coffee used to be $2.25 and $2 with the bring your own mug discount now they’ve raised it to $3 for a small. When I ask why I wasn’t told of this raise before my purchase or why we weren’t notified at least a few days in advance of a price increase they just said stood there and looked confused. I’ve been a customer at this same Think for over a year now and the staff are never really that friendly even when trying to engage in conversation. There is no free wifi. Only reason I can’t give one star is because of Thinks mission and dedication to sustainable practices and compostable To-go...
Read morePlease stay away from this place ! Horrible customer at its best . So I ordered a coffee with oat milk , and the barista/supervisor handed me the wrong order ( latte with almond milk ) then suddenly realized that she gave me the wrong Oder , took the coffee out of my hand , hand it over to another customer with an attitude. Then she proceeded to make my coffee, then sat it there without a lid , flies are just flying around . When I turned around and asked if that was my coffee, she responded “ yes , you already took the wrong order already , I didn’t need to call you for this one “ I couldn’t believe what I was hearing . She started raising her voice at me in front of the other customers, when I told her it was her mistake for giving me the wrong order , I couldn’t just go behind the bar and take the coffee. She was so rude , unprofessional and disrespectful. When I asked to speak with the supervisor, I was told she was the supervisor. Unbelievable!!! I would not recommend this place to anyone . I had to leave the coffee because they were flies all over it , no she agree to give...
