Le Horror | DO NOT GO | RUN AWAY
This is how it starts, they say they have a promotion for new customers were cut, balayage and blow out costs $180.
As soon as you sit on the chair the guy tells you that if you want toner, you will need to pay $85. But isn’t the toner part of the process of balayage? Yes, but it’s charged separately, he said.
So, you paid $50 to reserve the time, and now you will have to pay $270 -without tip- when you leave. Because of course you need the toner.
He did the balayage, they washed my hair. When he starts drying it, it’s white. “This is not the color I showed you.”
Then he cut my hair. In the SPECIFIC WAY I TOLD HIM NOT TO.
He does toner again. I sit on the chair and I started noticing that my hair is burnt.
what is this? burnt hair, it’s normal. no, it’s not normal. It never happened to me. I will fix it. How do you fix BURNT hair?
I have done balayage twice a year for 5 years, NEVER my hair was burnt. NEVER.
So, I left the salon with a haircut I dont like, a color that I don’t like, and my hair burnt. And they keep telling me it was, AND I COULD SEE IT WAS. So, in the combo, they group gaslight you into trying to make you think that the horrible result is what you wanted.
The cashier even tried to charge me $217 dollars when I left and they did not want to give me back the...
Read moreFirst time I have ever come here and I really liked it. Eddie cut my hair, he listened and did exactly as I asked. I would highly recommend him. I only wanted a trim and he understood and respected the fact I only wanted the dead ends cut, the least amount possible taken off, and NO layers or razor thinning of my hair (for me, this is due to personal reasons, that I do not care to share here). I did tell Eddie why and he was completely understanding. The wash girl was also great. She was gentle and gave a light massage while washing my hair and asked me to ensure the water temperature was good. She was also extremely gentle and precise. I have had wash girls in the past where you need a windshield wiper for your face due to the water they splash all over, leaving you with running mascara, wet shoulders and neck. The sink chair has a massager which was quite nice, especially if you get the hair treatment, you can lay there, be massaged and relax at the same time. I must agree however, with other reviewers that the owner(?) was somewhat terse, when I went to check out, on the phone and only asked how I was paying and in what way did I want my receipt. This was a stark contrast, in particular to the receptionist that warmly greeted me, asked to take my coat and directed me to the bathroom...
Read moreBLEACH DAMAGE - WORST SALON EXPERIENCE OF MY LIFE. I wanted highlights and got WHITE stripes in my head. I have been experiencing breakage and dryness for months — my curls are NOT the same. I showed Olga, the stylist, photos of exactly what I wanted (blonde sunkissed highlights). I showed her several example photos and told her to not make it too drastic. She barely looked at the photos and immediately started slathering bleach on my hair. The bleach was on my hair for SO long. The stylist was not paying attention to how long I had the color on whatsoever. She took the foils out and I was left with whitish-grey hair that was not blended whatsoever. The technique, placement of foils, and color was not just wrong, but DAMAGED my hair. The stripe-like pattern was just horrible. She told me “it would fade over time,” and that “it normally looks different on straight hair.” The stylist, Olga, has apparently been doing hair for decades. I immediately started crying and they charged me $200 for this. I had to go to another salon the next day and pay another $300 to fix it. I have asked the salon for a refund multiple times and they refused. I really wish I could give zero stars. I’ve been to dozens of salons in NYC and I will truly never forget how terrible this...
