I normally love this place and feel like everyone is very helpful. I don’t live in New York City and only get there about once a year. I go every thanksgiving to buy a new bra or two. I always get the same bra in the same size, probably for eight years now. So the last time I went in, a year ago at Thanksgiving. I just asked for two bras. They looked me up and I handed me two bras. Unfortunately, I didn’t realize they were the wrong size until I got back to Boston. So when I went to the city for thanksgiving this year I went in and told them that the year before I bought two bras and they had given me the wrong size and I couldn’t use them (too small). They were the ones who looked up my size and handed me the bras. I didn’t ask for a specific size. They refused to let me exchange them for the correct size. When you go to a store and spend a lot of money, if they give you the wrong size, they should exchange it and do the right thing. I have 2 bras now that I can’t use and I’m short $160. I don’t ever want to go back again since they don’t stand by their word of doing the right thing.
Edit: they responded to my review of them saying they tried to get in touch with me but I never received an email or call from them. All I want is to exchange the incorrect sized bras for the correct size. Nothing else. To the manager at the store …. Can this happen? I am angry because it’s a lot of money for me to spend on 2 bras I can’t use. Please just let me know if I can exchange the bras right size. That’s simply all I want....
Read moreI’ve never had a weirder or more rude retail experience. First of all, why are there 50 people working here at one time for no reason. The ratio of person to customer is basically 20:1.
Second of all, I’ve never been so uncomfortable in a retail environment. They were having a sidewalk sale today. Many people were sorting through the clothes, and as someone who had worked retail, it’s standard that the tables sometimes get disorganized. I was standing by a table and a woman yells at me and is talking about me to her other coworkers loudly in front of my face asking if I was going to buy something or now. She then said I wasn’t allowed to try anything on and stormed away. Thankfully another woman working outside apologized for her behavior and said we were all okay to keep looking tonight the racks, as you are allowed to do when you are shopping a store.
All the employees inside were very odd and treated anyone that came in to try something on like dirt. I was trying something on in the dressing room and an employee yells is anyone in here, then opens the door while I’m changing without waiting for a response. It was truly one of the oddest retail experiences ever, but bless the kind girl with grey streaks and the guy outside because they were truly the only nice people on...
Read moreYounger, bustier ladies: do not go here. I had two instances where they fitted me and sold me the wrong size - even after telling them over an over that it just didn't feel right, I was still pushed to buy the bras they sold me. Still kicking myself for that, since they were Panache and expensive. Lo and behold, they sold me bras that fit women of my size who were many years older than I and had more issues with sagging. And so I would spill out the top and my bras bunched up at the bottom. Horrible. Shame on me for buying those bras, but shame on you for not listening to your clientele when they seem ambivalent about a major purchase.
I still went back (and I am, again, still kicking myself to this day!) The lady who helped me immediately realized the issue and apologized. She sold me another underwire bra that fit much better - one I purchased with the purpose of 1. having a hard cup (not having issues when it's cold) and 2. being supportive. Well, it works for 2 but 1 is still lacking. I'm going to be buying my bras online...
