My daughter and I visited Giuseppe at the Living Room Hair Salon this past Sunday for haircuts. I had decided to try the salon out after seeing so many positive reviews from others in the Upper East Side. We had a wonderful experience with this salon as a whole, all of the staff was welcoming, extremely kind, and they treated my daughter with the same level of care as they did for me, it was great. Also the salon was extremely clean and modern, and they had the door open which offered nice circulation.
Giuseppe took a lot of time to get to know me, he provided a thorough evaluation of my hair, and shared his thoughts + vision, he was fantastic. I walked away with a great haircut (so did my daughter), and a follow up appointment for balayage that I am really looking forward to!
I am posting again to follow up on my last review. I ended up scheduling my balayage a few weeks after my initial cut with Guisseppe, and I have to say, in my 20+ years of getting my hair colored, I have never come across a colorist who gave so much care and attention to my hair. Guisseppe knew (after conversations) how sensitive my hair was after being completely destroyed by another salon. He used a totally different balayage process on my hair to ensure it didn't break, and he watched every second to make sure it was perfect. Guisseppe handled the entire process himself, including the wash, toner, etc., to ensure everything was 1000% right which can't be said for other salons I have been to where you are handed off to multiple people in the process. I could go on and on here forever about how thoughtful Guisseppe was throughout my hair journey, but I am telling whoever is reading this that you will never come across a colorist like him. He also explained every little thing he was doing to my hair, so I wasn't left wondering what was being applied or why something was being done. To top it off, all of the salon staff, especially the receptionists, are the kindest, most welcoming people; they are all absolutely lovely and accommodating, and for both of my experiences now, they have a customer for life in me and I am very thankful to have...
Read moreI will try to make this review short and sweet as I know long one can be daunting, but let me tell you that I feel like I have FINALLY found my new salon and stylist in the Upper East Side. As we all know, especially those of us that color our hair, finding a good salon and a good stylist can be quite a journey. I had been to several other salons in the neighborhood and some I would stay at for a few months, but then something would happen that would cause me to look elsewhere.
I came in on a Sunday and Giuseppe was my stylist. I said to him only a few simple things - half head of highlights and blended and he went to work. i don't know how he did it or if he is a psychic, but it was like he read my mind and gave me exactly what I wanted and I AM THRILLED. I feel like only really good and amazing stylists can take a little information and make it amazing.
He also has such a strong passion for hair coloring and the art of it. He thoroughly enjoys his work and making people happy by giving them exactly what they want and you can tell as it was very much reflected in his work and personality.
Also the Living room hair salon is HUGE and just beautiful! I don't think I have been to a salon that clean, organized and spacious since I lived in California!
Seriously - if you want a wonderful experience with wonderful stylists - look no further as The Living Room Hair...
Read moreIt has been a very long time since I have been there. I donât know that anything has changed. It is a very large and very clean air space. The few interactions I have had with the staff found them to be very friendly. There are two owners. Oneâs name is shy. I used him two or three times. He was very nice very pleasant and really wanted the customer to be happy. The taller of the two whose name I have blocked out is a nasty angry man. When he was at another salon on 2nd Ave. he did tell me he doesnât like older women! I used him twice in his new salon. I wanted to try a keratin treatment just on the front of my hair. Instead of saying that he would rather not do it. He burned my entire forehead, and left me with some scars. Over the years they have begun to disappear. I would never go bac!. I would never recommend the salon! I would deter anyone from going there. Too many really good places in the area After this was posted, the owner responded by wondering why I waited so long to write a review. The reason â I had no intention of writing a review until I met two other women who had the same issue as I did. We decided it might be helpful for other women over 40 that might want to go there. I was offered the opportunity to come in and have a free service. I wouldnât go back if they...
