I wish I could give 0 stars. This is a warning for customers so they donât get scammed like I did. I walked by this store today around 4:30pm and saw these big long green and amazing looking avocados and I decided to buy two. I picked them myself very consciously and the woman that works there grabbed them from my hands to put them in a bag at the same time as she said âthese arenât going to be ready to eat in two or three daysâ, to what I replied âI know, thatâs why Iâm getting them, I already have ripe ones and need green unripe ones so they lastâ. She turned around and went to grab a bag from under the outdoor counter where I couldnât see, and I looked down to grab my wallet. She came back and handed me a bag with the avocados and I automatically put them in my backpack without checking them. I did more errands and when I got to Brooklyn and I took them out I realized that she had swapped the avocados I picked with my hands for tiny round ripe avocados. I felt so scammed and frustrated that I decided to go back to speak up and ask her why she swapped them so shadily and gave me that garbage, and return them. Sadly, by the time I arrived, the store was already closed. These people donât deserve to have a business, they fool customers and give them the trash they have in the back so it doesnât get spoiled on them, and keep the plump nice looking produce for display. Donât purchase here and make sure to check your bags so they...
Read moreI would if I could give ZERO star. 1, the vegetables and some stuffs are NOT FRESH at all; 2, the worst is that the old women working at the Cashier's are extremely rude and have no manner at all. One of them She could understand and speak English but she kept speaking Cantonese and when I said, I couldn't understand, she made an arrogant face to me while not even looking at me saying "en-huh", well, it feels as it is they are better than you because you Don't speaking Cantonese. It was 9.40 I need to pay but I tried to give her 10.40 so I can have a dollar bill. But I calculated it wrong and had one cent short. Then she didn't even tell me anything and or saying anything to indicate that I still need one cent more, giving me a bunch of coins as change. When I asked her why you're take my coins, she said "NO." I asked what you mean by "no". And she tried to ignore me, While not even looking at me. These have no courtesy or any sense of respect. There are a lot of other Chinese groceries with fresh food and MUCH BETTER service if you want to go. Don't get yourself treated by some undereducated disrespectful...
Read moreLove this Asian Supermarket. They carry many durian goods (durian cake, durian powdered drink mix, frozen durian, etc), pandan related items, coconut related items, instant coffee and tea mixes, Milo, Horlick, cooking sauces, gui lin go, soursop juice, mangosteen juice, pork and mung bean sticky rice, sweet coconut sticky rice, sweet mung bean sticky rice, a fresh fruits stand in front outside, and a plethora of general Asian goods at excellent prices, unlike Whole Foods. They are a treasure trove of Asian goods. I especially like the sweets because they're only minimally sweet so I don't feel like I'm eating diabetes. My favorite is the mung bean filled pandan tapioca balls in coconut milk topped with toasted sesame seeds. I take it home and steam the balls. Amazing!
Come to Tan Tin Hung. You will...
