One of the most unorganized places I have been to. Front desk is unhelpful and overwhelmed. I recently moved back to the city and was looking for a PCP. MiDoctor in Hell's Kitchen had good reviews and is in a convenient location. I made on online appointment with Dr. Christina Zhang and let my credit card information (no-shows are $100). I arrived early to my appointment given that it was my first time. I was led by the nurse to an exam room. She asked me some questions and she had to leave the room numerous times to get equipment to draw blood including a table. It felt like this was the first time they were using this room for patient care. At some point, a gentlemen came in who never introduced himself. My appointment was with Dr. Zhang, I was given no explanation who this gentlemen was. He performed what I can only assume to be a physical, was never told what was done, why and what the finding was. At the end I was told that my prescriptions had been sent to the pharmacy. At the pharmacy I learned 1 prescription was missing. Called doctor's office, was told would send. Next say still missing, called doctor's office again. The I got a voicemail from the doctor's office to make an appointment with Dr. Zhang. Called and told them I was just there and the only no-shwo was Dr. Zhang and to have her call me to understand why I had to come back. When medication arrived at pharmacy, it was the wrong one (doctor's office had sent the wrong prescription for a controlled substance). Doctor office submitted corrected prescription but required prior authorization. When I called doctor's office, front desk cannot tell me status but promised someone would call. No one ever called. Called again, person said authorization is with insurance still (7 days later). Called again, this time was told insurance had denied twice. Called insurance, was told never received prior authorization request for the correct medication, only for the wrong one. This place is a mess. Everything is rushed, things don't get done, no one is calling back. No one explains what is being done and why. Seems like a place trying to make a quick buck, certainly not a place to receive true...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreNot a good experience. I booked an appointment with the DOCTOR as I needed to find a new Primary Care Provider since moving to the city. When I arrived, I realized the place is also an urgent care, and I was treated like an urgent care patient. (Even though it also says Primary Care, and the doctor is listed that way online.) Part of the reason I picked this place was because the doctor seemed to have good reviews, and their website said they were on the cutting edge of technology. Technology, where? The nurse scribbled down a few notes on a ripped off piece of paper. No laptop or tablet in sight. Then walked out of the room and proceeded to repeat everything I just said to a Physician's Assistant, who then came in and asked me to repeat everything yet again. Neither seemed to be very interested in what I had to say, and I didn't get the feeling I was being taken seriously or being taken care of. The nurse gouged me several times trying to take blood. They didn't have the appropriate sized needles to take blood from a person's hand. At one point she put in the needle, rooted around in my hand for 2-3 minutes like she was performing a liposuction procedure and then took the needle out and used the SAME NEEDLE to try and draw blood from somewhere else. My main priority was to get my iron levels tested, and they ran a battery of other tests - some I've never even heard of before (that I think are for pregnant women) - but failed to do the one test I asked for. No one ever called or e-mailed to follow up about my test results even thought they were out of range. But out of everything, it irritates me the most that I scheduled an appointment with a doctor, and just saw a Physician's Assistant, no doctor, for my annual wellness exam. WILL NOT BE RETURNING. I joined Forward Healthcare as a direct result of my terrible experience with this place, and I've been very pleased with their service and care so far. I hope you were treated...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreCame in on a Sunday with what I presumed is a fractured shoulder. Before seeing the doctor, told them that I wanted to make sure I got an X-ray. They told me their x-ray tech had left, so I suggested I go somewhere else because obviously an X-ray is very important and I'd rather get all this done during the weekend instead of weekday. They assured me that they could refer me to a place that could do an x-ray and send it to them and the doctor could see me first. (felt like a sales rebuttal). But assured me I could get an x-ray. Saw the doctor, she agreed it's most likely fractured and might also be a torn ligament. They then spent half an hour trying to find a place to do an x-ray but there was no location they could find to answer. They sent me on a goose-chase suggesting a place to go, which I went to on the other side of the city UES and they said they don't do it on weekends and no appointment was made. The doctor at MiDoctor, Dr. Zhang, also told me that I could come back because the tech gets there at 8:15, after they open at 8am. I called back later during the week and was told the tech in fact works 10am-6pm for x-ray so I can only come back during those hours. It feels like such a bait and switch that they baited me to see the doctor to charge the fee for the visit without caring about my health and wellness. They lied about referring me to an x-ray lab, and about when their technician would be in. I've always had great experiences with urgent care facilities, but this one just felt like a bait and switch where they just wanted my money for the doctor visit and don't care about the rest. I now have to go to another urgent care to see another doctor to get a different referral for an x-ray because they require doctor referrals. Go somewhere where they care about your health AS WELL as making money. Not making money instead of caring about...
