The "good reviews" below are about a year old but the yelp reviews are much more accurate and share similar stories to mine! This place has ruined all of my bras and underwear (mind you I put them in a pillowcase to avoid this), their prices change on the regular. Charged a different price on the same size load every single time and blames it on "well we washed it with cold or on delicate so it took longer?" They even charged me $2 to wash my bathroom matte separately THEN charged again to dry separately? THEN charged again for having a second load of laundry (One would think one charge would be enough for a bath matte instead of paying $6 - you might as well keep the matte at that point)! I've had my gray towel come back with bleach spots all over it, my cashmere sweater from Saks has a weird purplish bleach mark on it from their dry cleaning (looked similar to my gray towel so I know its bleach). Something in my gut told me to switch but I was super busy before the holiday weekend and told myself that I would use them one more time. I just received my laundry back with another persons laundry mixed in (good to know I paid for that persons stuff) and my expensive coral lace bra & my Lulu track pants are missing! I called and she said that they will just have to wait till someone calls it in?? When I asked to speak to the manager (who I heard in the background speaking loudly to the girl). She claimed she was the only one there. When I called her out on that, she continually lied and said "no - its just me" and refused to give me a full or partial refund even for the other persons laundry that I paid for! This place is sketchy. If you have cheap clothes that you don't care about then this might be the place for you for your convenience but other than that, this place is a scam and highly unprofessional. What kind of manager doesn't want to deal with their unhappy clients? Stay clear and DO NOT bring anything valuable here for dry cleaning and...
Read moreUPDATE: The business’s response seems to miss the core concern, which wasn’t about the existence of extra charges but the lack of transparency around them. The reply also doesn’t acknowledge the feedback about inconsistent folding quality, which was a key part of my experience.
I’ve used six to eight different laundry drop-off spots over the past decade, and while this one is a bit nicer because it's organized, well-lit, and the staff is friendly, there are several issues that make it hard to recommend.
They offer free delivery. (Reminder: tip when they drop off.) The base price is about what you would expect for a basic neighborhood wash-and-folds, but the cost has gone up significantly, probably around 30%, over the past year.
Which leads me to something I think is important: lack of communication on pricing. They charge more for items that take longer to wash or dry, which could make sense, but nothing is communicated about that in addition to the general price increases.
There are no posted laundry prices for specific items anywhere, just a base price/per pound rate on a ground sign outside, and a sign for dry cleaning inside. They don’t give you a receipt when  pick up unless you ask. It’s unclear whether this is intentional, but the lack of transparency makes it hard to trust this business.
The clothes come back mostly clean, though they don’t smell as fresh as from other places. Not necessarily dirty, but noticeably more neutral. Most laundromats tend to use too much Tide, which I also hate, and this one does not overdo it.
Folding looks quick and definitely not neat, which might explain how they get through so much laundry and can charge slightly less. I end up having to refold everything I get back, which I didn't have to do with other wash-and-folds that organized and folded everything professionally.
Overall, the service is okay, but the way they handle pricing has left me irritated...
Read moreI have to brag on them for my most recent experience. I was heading out of town and had worked late - meaning they were closed by the time I got home. I gave them a call and explained that I had an early morning flight and desperately needed my clothes to pack. They went above and beyond, and even though they were closed and their delivery person was no longer there, someone came after hours and hand delivered my laundry!
I have been using Ming's for over a year now and am extremely happy with the service I've gotten. The most important thing to me in a laundry service is consistency, quality & timing. They have been very accommodating to my schedule - coordinating and calling to ensure I'm home before coming to pick up or dropoff. My clothes are always completed in a timely manner and folded nicely. I have never had any problems. In fact, they have called a couple of times over the last year to confirm I was sure I wanted them to dry a couple of items.
Several people in my building are now using Ming's as well!...
