I have to give Daily Bagel at 1111 1st Ave five massive stars! This place is truly a neighborhood treasure and my absolute go-to for the perfect New York bagel experience.
From the moment you walk in, you're hit with that amazing, comforting smell of freshly baked bagels. The texture is always spot-on: a perfectly crisp and shiny crust on the outside, with a dense, chewy, and flavorful inside. You can just tell they are made with serious care.
Their "everything" bagel is heavenly and generously seasoned (none of that sparse topping nonsense!). I'm also obsessed with their scallion cream cheese, which is always fresh and loaded with scallions. Whether I'm getting a classic lox and cream cheese or just a simple buttered bagel, they never disappoint. The ingredients are always fresh, the lox is sliced perfectly, and they know how to build a sandwich.
Even when there's a line (which there often is, because it's just that good), the staff is incredibly efficient, friendly, and fast. They move people through quickly while still making you feel welcome.
If you're in the 10065 area or anywhere on the Upper East Side and craving an authentic, delicious bagel, look no further than Daily Bagel. It's...
Read moreOrdered a bacon, eggs and home fries platter and asked for ketchup on the home fries. The ketchup was sloppily squirted all over the eggs and bacon due to the home fries being covered by the eggs and bacon. The bacon was stuck together in a tight ball where I couldn’t even separate it. And when I tried, it crumbled up in little pieces. The scrambled eggs were orange which told me that they were scrambled yokes. Like I’m stupid. They probably use all the leftover yokes that they separate for people who want egg whites. The cooking staff must have been upset at my complaint because they came out to see who complained. Although my eggs and bacon were made over for me I didn’t have time to eat it because now I had to be to work. The cashier and the gentleman that took my order were nice. But I would never step foot back in...
Read moreSolid spot for a breakfast bite. They have bagels, pastries, and hot breakfast items including platters that come with a coffee. I went in about 9am on a Friday. Two people behind the counter. One chef one cashier. The chef took my order (breakfast burrito) and I went and pre-paid for that and an iced coffee. The total came out to be about 15 dollars. The coffee was nothing out of the ordinary, just plain deli coffee. The burrito was deceivingly small but packed a punch. It had decently spicy pico de gallo, cold yellow cheese, fried hash brown, diced sausage patty, and egg. It was a mess to eat but it tasted good....
