Nice view of Roosevelt Island on a hot summer morning with a cool breeze off the east river. Fun to watch all the ferries, boats, trams, jet skis, kayaks and more bustle up and down the water. Nice seating and generally very clean and inviting. Lacks a bit of shade and the entrance on 60th was hard to spot with all the...

Nice area near water. We spend time here every day. Very disappointed how dirty and dangerous place becoming. Rats everywhere, in big groups. Horror. Many homeless people, aggressive. Dog park not taken care off- dirty, filthy, smells so bad. Garbage overflowing. Overgrown greenery- why...

Dog Park Feature: Andrew Haswell Green Dog Park! This is a great dog run located right along the East River at 62nd St. It is nicely set back from the highway but if you are coming from the north end, make sure you take the pedestrian bridge at 63rd st to get there. There are two sections, small dogs and all dogs, both with gravel surfaces, plenty of seating and shade both from pergolas and trees. The park has a water station a water station and little pup pool for cooling off! There are great views of the Ed Koch Bridge, the river and Roosevelt Island Tramway! Overall this is a gorgeous park with enough space to run around on both sides and definitely worth a visit!! . . . #DogParkFeature #DogFriendlyNYC #PetFriendlyNYC #DogFriendlyClub #BenjisGuideToNYC #BenjisGuideToManhattan #BenjisGuide #Terrier #Schnorkie #Schnauzer #ThingsToDoInNYC #DogsOfNYC #NYCDogs #DogFriendlyPlaces #DogFuriends #NYC #AndrewHaswellGreenPark #UWS #DogPark

The Newly Opened EAST MIDTOWN GREENWAY East River Esplanade in New York City Here’s a new waterfront space to check out this winter. The East Midtown Greenway Project Connecting Walkway in Manhattan including the 54th St. Bridge leading to 60th St and Andrew Haswell Green Park is now open to the public. The two new spaces extend the route for safe cycling and walking, while also providing space for relaxing and enjoying the waterfront. The development is situated east of the FDR Drive and includes a new park entrances at East 54th Street and East 60th Street, a pedestrian bridge, and the revitalization of Andrew Haswell Green Park and the Alice Aycock Pavilion. There is also a 2,000-foot-long plaza stretching from East 53rd to 61st Streets. The Greenway features embossed concrete pathways called “Diatom Lace” by Stacy Levy @stacylevy. Diatoms are microscopic algae found in the East River. A repeating pattern of the microscopic forms of local diatoms appears in the pathways of the East Midtown Greenway along the East River. Filmed yesterday, January 3, 2024 Tag someone you’d like to visit the East Midtown Greenway with. 📍Enter from East 54th or 60th Street, East Midtown Manhattan, New York City #nycparks #eastmidtowngreenway #eastriver #thingstodoinnewyork #newyork #waterfront
