I came into the shop at noon there was one barber doing a cut and one sitting in a chair. there was one customer sitting on the bench ahead of me waiting. the barber sitting in the chair told me it will be a while and that I should return at 2:30 because he has an appointment at 12:30! so instead of cutting my hair or allowing me to wait for the 1 gentleman in front of me to be finished he had me leave saying he was too busy to help me. I can't stress the fact enough that he was sitting in his chair doing nothing but waiting for an appointment to show up 30 minutes later. Extremely poor business practice, he offered no explanation as to why he would not cut my hair and said he could not give me a time frame on how long my wait would be when there was literally 1 customer waiting ahead of me. On my way out the door I asked him one last time if he would rather sit in his chair a half hour and do nothing waiting on an appointment to show up or earn a good cash paying customer in me who merely wanted a quick clean trim, he just shrugged his shoulders and watched me walk out the door. If you grew up in predominately Italian neighborhood in one of the boroughs or even suburbs of the city, you had a barber shop like this. Filled mostly with Italian male barbers of various ages, all who know how to cut hair and cut it properly. Don’t think they are out of touch b/c you don’t get cucumber mineral water while you wait. In fact, you can just walk in. Charlie is my guy and NEVER DISAPPOINTS. When I went super short/ verge of a buzz he kept it stylish and smart with clean lines. He then indulged me I growing it back longer and has shepherded it to the compliment rich locks I have now and teaches me ways that allow me to grow my hair longer while cutting it, counterintuitive thoughts but working out nicely. Went over my beard one time and missed plenty of spots. I have a thick beard and asked him to check a couple spots. I was told “the clipper is automatic it’s all the same length” and he reluctantly used scissors to check one spot and rushed me out of the chair. What a joke. Clearly trying to rush and didn’t care about a quality experience. Do not recommend. Only reason it isn’t a 1 star review is the price, but you get what you pay for...
