My children have been taking music class with Jeremy for roughly 10 years. Starting as the preschool music teacher, but then for various camps and then private lessons. Both of my children have very different learning styles. My son reads and memorizes with ease, and has an excellent ear. Jeremy started helping him train his ear and now he has started figuring out his favorite melodies on the piano in his spare time.
My daughter likes to teach herself songs without reading. When she was 8 I realized she was hating reading sheet music, and it is far more important to me that she have a connection to instruments and making music first. Jeremy was completely open to that and her love of music flourished. She now sings and accompanies herself, composes her own songs (with Jeremy's guidance) AND has taken up guitar, which he also teaches.
He is so supportive and kind and is great with tinies (2-6) to Pre-teens. We could not ask for a better partner for our children's music education. He is so familiar that he sometimes gets much of the same attitude that is reserved for parents and he handles it with ease and patience. We are eternally grateful and can not...
Read moreThis is the second year my twins have been to this summer camp, and I can’t praise it enough. Last year we did one week, and the twins had so much fun learning about different types of music and sharing that with me and my wife. This year we did the full two weeks, and the twins had a blast. The staff that work there are just so amazing. My daughter would always great the people at the desk, and was always greater with a warm smile. They do great work here with introducing kids to music. The past two week, the first thing my kids want to do is tell me about the different types is music they learned about and sing the songs they learned. At the end of the week, this camp gives you a “record” with a QR code to listen to all the music the kids were exposed to. The only reason my twins stayed up as late as they did tonight was because we were going through the music from the week. Their favorite song seems to be “Rattlin’ Bog”, they have been singing it none stop. If you want your kids to have a great experience introducing them to music, this is the place to go. Your kids will learn so much and have...
Read moreMy 4 year old has been to two Musication camps. Both times he has had a wonderful time. This past time (summer camp), he came home everyday telling us all about the things he learned including capoeira moves, how to distinguish between high and low tones, and how to make different sounds on a djembe drum. He started making music with anything he could find at home - glasses of water, hair combs, etc. He even gave me a lesson on how our voices are an instrument. In spite of feeling shy because he did not know the other kids at the camp, at the end of the week, my son told me camp was "fun" and that he wanted to go back. One thing I really appreciated was that there are opportunities for kids to dance and move OR simply sit and listen to the live music (which is what my son does). And the camp recording at the end is amazing. My son listens to his CD repeatedly and takes great pride in picking out his voice on the recording of the group sings. Thank you, Jeremey and all of the Musicaion team for this awesome experience. We will definitely see you at a...
