Absolute DISASTER of an experience with pickup order.
I placed a brunch order on a Saturday about 11:30am for a 12:21pm pick up time.
I show up at 12:30pm to pick up, and the server indicates there was an issue on their end and they never got the order, but they will make. I tell him that's fine, i'll wait outside - i get it that these things happens.
At about 12:40, i start to wonder how long i'm going to be waiting. A few people take seats outside and orders are placed.
At about 12:47, I go inside and ask what the deal is, they say 'sorry, its going to take another 10 to 15 minutes'. At this point, it becomes very clear that they just wasted 17 minutes of their time by not starting my order AND they are not even feigning any attempt to fix their mistake, with frankly is table stakes customer service at any restaurant, let alone one in the west village.
Around 12:50, one of the seated guys outside gets his lunch.
At 1:07 i text my GF that the guy outside finished his whole meal, and i still don't have the omelet and salad i ordered 37 minutes after the restaurant realized they made a mistake.
I get food at 1:10 - 50 minutes after it was supposed to be ready, and 40 minutes after the restaurant new of the mistake.
It takes a special level of bad to have this sequence of events unfold.
In the end - the food was OK, not exceptional, not bad, but the experience was a nightmare.
So morale of story, place pickup orders...
Read moreI’ve been coming to this café for years, since my intern days when I’d sit alone with a coffee just to enjoy the atmosphere and chat with Efrin (who I don’t think works here anymore, though I still remember how welcoming he was). This has always been one of my favorite spots, which is why today’s experience was so disappointing.
I came in with a friend and kindly asked for a table for two, and was sat immediately. Since my friend hadn’t arrived yet, however, the waitress asked me to stand back up and wait to be seated until they got there—which I did without complaint. Once my friend arrived, the same waitress sat us but was unpleasant from the very start. When she came to take our order, she barely acknowledged us.
My friend ordered the make-your-own omelette and asked what veggies and cheeses were available. Instead of answering, the waitress placed her handheld ordering device down on our table and told my friend, with clear irritation, to “look for yourself.” It was such a strange and rude response to a simple question. My friend made her selection on the device, and the waitress walked off. We didn’t see her again for the rest of our meal. This waitress knows who she is.
I still love this café, and I’ve had so many positive memories here over the years, but I left today feeling disheartened. The atmosphere deserves better service than what we...

As soon as you walk in, you’re welcomed by the easy buzz of conversation and the cozy warmth of a classic city cafe compact but never cramped, thanks to plenty of natural light and inviting touches. The sidewalk seating is a real highlight: perfect for people-watching with a good coffee or leisurely brunch on a sunny weekend morning.
The menu is packed with brunch staples fluffy omelettes, hearty burritos, crisp French toast each made with a freshness that stands out. There’s something genuinely comforting about the food: portions are generous, flavors satisfy, and the coffee is exactly what you want with a big breakfast or just on its own. Specialty drinks and hot chocolate are also memorable.
What I love most about Cafe Luna is how at-home you feel, whether you’re grabbing a quick bite, meeting friends, or just savoring some solo time. The staff take a friendly, attentive approach, making sure even busy mornings don’t feel rushed. It’s a place that’s effortlessly welcoming somewhere you end up lingering longer than planned, and looking forward to...
