I called this establishment on Friday, May 12th to make an appointment for the next day. I told the man over the phone that I wanted a gel pedicure, gel manicure with nail extensions and a eyebrow waxing. I asked him how much was that going to be and he told me "$125 more or less." That is not a set price because the establishment could charge more than what they are telling you over the phone. I thought that $125 was a already a steep price for what I wanted done. However, the reviews were very good, so I wanted to give it a try. Fast forward to the appointment and I get the gel pedicure with the gel manicure with extensions. The person taking care of me forgot about my eyebrows and I am glad that she did because when the owner told me that the price was $180 with $8 in tax, I was in shock because that is not what he told me over the phone the day before and I didnt even get my eyebrows waxed. I came prepared to pay $125 and nothing more. I only had $180 in cash on me and had to put the tax on my debit card. I was highly upset about that to the max. None of what I got done should have been $180. I really wanted to tip the girl that did my nails because she did do a good job, however, since I was charged $55 more than what I was told, her tip was in that $180 bill. Then the owner said that I could Venmo the tip (which I do not do) or I could go next door to the ATM. That was not going to happen because it was an out of network ATM which means I would have been charged double fees and no tip is worth that. So I said to him sure, I will go to the ATM. I walked out of the salon, walked past that ATM and went on with my day with no desire to return ever again. What I was charged was ridiculous! Word of advice: have a website or a service menu in the salon with accurate prices! For my first time, trying a NYC nail salon, it is safe for me to stay in Jersey where I won't be lied to about the...
Read moreWARNING: AVOID THIS SALON if you value your health! Hereâs what happened to me: I booked my first appointment here for 10:00 AM, scheduling myself and two friends to be seen together. Unfortunately, when we arrived, they staggered our appointments instead of accommodating us simultaneously. Bothersome, but we decided to wait since we had the time. I started first. The salon has six stations in the back, but the space was stifling due to constant blow-drying and styling in the front. My nail technician seemed distracted, constantly using her phone with AirPods inâvoice-messaging mid-manicure, with her attention shifting from the phone, to my hands, and around the room. About five minutes in, while filing my nails, she accidentally jammed the file hard into my finger, causing it to bleed immediately. I said, âOuch!â and she casually replied, âSorry, that can happen.â She quickly applied a green liquid from a bottle I didnât trust, given how worn and unhygienic this liquid bottle and the equipment looked. She continued as though nothing happened, still on her phone. Meanwhile, fine nail dust flew into the wound â this was NOT HYGENIC. Incredibly, I still paid for this âservice.â But the real cost has been FAR higher in medical bills, trying to fix the damage. My finger developed a severe infection (see photos). After trying several creams at home with no improvement, the pain and swelling only worsened. Currently, my finger is painfully swollen, throbbing, and BADLY INFECTED, and Iâm on my way to URGENT CARE for treatment. I have difficultities to type on my laptop, which means I canât work at the moment. I can only hope this doesnât progress into something more serious, and Iâll be notifying health authorities regardless.
This is so BAD! If you donât want serious health issues, DO NOT GO HERE!...
Read moreOUTRAGEOUS PRICING FOR MANICURE AT $45 I am posting this review to warn others before they go here for a manicure. I booked an appointment here when my friend recommended it after getting a gel manicure. She advised me that while not the fanciest place around, her GEL manicure was fairly priced and the nail technician was nice and did a good job. So you can imagine my surprise that when it was time to pay up for my VERY BASIC (NON gel) manicure the bill was $45 PLUS tax. When I questioned why this exorbitant amount for the service, the technician apologized and told me that is how hair salons charge. I am not sure this is true, because the only time I have ever paid more than $30 for a manicure was at a high-end spa, in a robe, sipping on a lemon water and this was certainly NOT a spa experience. NOT EVEN CLOSE. Also, I would like to point out that when you google to get the address and phone number it is not listed as a hair salon. It says Nail and Spa Salon, which is deceptive to the consumer. While the nail technician was very pleasant and did a satisfactory job of adding polish to my nails, the service did not warrant the $45 price tag. Other nail salons in the area will at least massage your hands with lotion or give a quick neck massage afterwards to give you the "spa" experience and you will not find anything included in the service here that would qualify as spa-like. In addition, the polish selection was limited and the two I had selected were dry and unusable. In the end I paid almost $50 (after tax) for a simple manicure in a color that I didn't even want. A very disappointing experience. I really hope the polish will...
