My friend and I are doing the women's triathlon in philly this weekend and we were made aware that Delmo sports was working with unlimited biking to rent a bike so we wouldn't have to travel with our personal bikes from NYC to philly for the triathlon; so i contacted unlimited biking via email to inquire if I could go to the store in person to see the bikes in person and try them out since i want to make sure i am comfortable the day of the event and i was informed by "lance" via email that this was totally doable. So today my friend and i went to the central park 56 west location to see the bikes and try to test them out as i was told via email. To my surprise I was informed that we could not test out the bikes and that I actually had to call a telephone number provided at the store to reserve the bike. Then after a few mins we were informed we could get on the bikes at the store just to see how we feel on the bike, which we were fine with then out of nowhere an employee of unlimited biking names "Kevin" began yelling in front of various customers directly to my friend and I that our triathlon did not matter, that we were wasting our time, and that we are holding up the line and wasting their time and that our triathlon was a month away and why are we even there trying out bikes! He kept yelling and complaining and when i asked for his name he indicated he didnt have to tell us anything and when we asked his coworker "chris" to give us his name he said "hey if he does not want to give his name I aint sharing it" and then the receptionist told us his name and she said his name was "kevin" Asian with a few tattoos, photos will be provided. This was incredibly insulting behavior, borderline assaulting and harassment. As a Latina woman i find this incredibly unprofessional, disrespectful , and disgusting, this company needs to take action on these employees, specifically "kevin and chris," and make sure professional and respectful employees are being hired and delmo sports should not continue to work with these folks until they can show they are actually respectful towards women athletes and...
Read moreSo glad this company exists. They were one of the best (possibly the actual best) part of my Summer Streets NYC experience. Booking a bike was easy - the Unlimited Biking booth was manned by two awesome dudes who facilitated me getting a bike with charm and efficiency. First, I signed a waiver that advised me to wear a helmet and quickly learned the rules - the bike would be free for the first hour (they kindly offered a grace period of about 15 mins) and just under $13 an hour after that. Second, I scanned a QR code and followed a link to register for the bike with my name, address, and a credit card. They put a $1 hold on my card and assured me I would not be charged if I brought the bike back within the grace period. They also said I’d get my dollar back when they got the bike back. Third, they helped me choose a bike I’d be comfortable on (I’m a shorty so I went with the small 💛). Lastly, one of the two awesome dudes showed me how to adjust the seat so I could ride off comfortably, like a boss. I had come with my own helmet which was great because Unlimited Biking did not provide them. Don’t know if this was planned but their tent was set up right across from the DOT tent where they were giving away helmets 💚 so I would've been able to grab one if I’d left mine at home. The bike rode smoothly, was manageably light, and had a handy pouch on the handlebars which empowered me to ride with my bottle of water. Only suggestions would be softer seat cushions 😅 and to make sure riders know how to adjust their bikes (seat height, gear changes for hills, and brakes). I’d forgotten how to adjust the gears and didnt think to ask while I was getting set up with the bike so if Unlimited Biking makes reviewing seat adjustments, how the brakes work, and how to change gears with each rider part of every registration, there’s nothin left to do but have an amazing time. 10/10,...
Read moreEverytime I’ve done the Cyclovia events in LA, I’ve booked my bike rental through Unlimited Biking. Even though they’re the only biking company that caters to the event. Ive always enjoyed the ease of booking online, and whenever I’ve needed to get in contact with someone it’s been easy through the toll free number. The staff are pleasant , and very understanding. The one complaint I do have isn’t really their fault but with the Cyclovia event that was held yesterday , Unlimited Biking was stationed 4 miles away from the beginning of a 7 mile event.. I paid for a full day event but had to walk 4 miles to pick up my rental. And then was expected to drop it back off by 4pm and walk the additional 4 miles back to my car. However, I ended up riding the bike to my car and then putting it in the back of my compact RAV4. As I’m starting up my vehicle ready to drive off, I receive a phone call from the Unlimited Biking staff who was at the event. He politely asked when I’d be arriving to drop off the bike because they were beginning to load their van. I told him it’d take me 25 minutes due to street closures and asked if I could just drop bike off at the storefront in Santa Monica since that was only 19 minutes. If you know LA traffic, then you know every second or minute you can save them you will. He said that should be fine. I drove to the store which was located not too far from Santa Monica Pier. Finding parking wasn’t easy due to all the restaurants and hotel but I managed to nab one right in front of the store. I went inside and explained to the staff that I was bringing the bike from the event. That staff member called the staff that was at the event and they ok’d the drop off. It was a smooth transition. All in all, until I buy a bicycle of my own I will always look to Unlimited Biking for my biking needs. They also rent helmets and...
