Great Massage, weird vibe about tipping. Looking for someone who wants to work out the issues in your body? Consider Daisy. I rarely luck into someone who does good work but Daisy READ MY BODY! She was there to find -and work out- my issues and she was committed to getting at them all as thoroughly as she could. It was a very deep tissue massage so brace yourself. Treatments like this leave me feeling much better and so full of gratitude, which is how I was feeling when I came out to pay. Thatās when things got a little weird. I Daisy my card and she said āyou pay tip with cash or on card?ā in a more demanding way than Iām used to (I always tip but by definition itās voluntary.) and when I said to put 20% on the card she handed the card to her boss and walked away without speaking to me. It seemed abrupt but I thought she couldnāt possibly be annoyed with my tip so I called out to her, āThanks Daisy!ā, which I had already said a few times and this was really when she should have been thanking me for my business, right? Anyway I was happy overall so I was going to give a raving review but in reading the other reviews I realize that maybe she really was being passive aggressive in disapproving of my $38.00 tip. (??š¤·š¼āāļø) Thatās a buzz kill because I like feeling grateful and generous, not compelled or resented so if thatās the vibe she intended to give at the end, Iāll have to consider that when deciding whether or not to return. The advertised price for the 90 minute massage is $190.00 so if 20% tip is insufficient in their eyes, I guess I have to determine if the treatment is worth the $250 they evidently expect if I want to return and also be treated with gratitude when Iām leaving. A last quick note: The massage room has carpet but they donāt provide flip flops so consider...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreResponse: Kindly re-read my review as it seems youāve missed the point altogether. It wasnāt just courtesy to others but selective treatment. Also, it wasnāt just one client but to other clients after me. She flat out said no to me, but she didnāt say no to any of the other clients that came after me. Learn to read reviews properly prior to commenting as my case is clearly presented below.
I was late to my appointment by 15-20 minutes and explained the situation due to the holiday traffic yesterday, the older lady manning the front desk blatantly flat out lied she was unable to accommodate. She was willing to turn away a monthly client that has been visiting since August and with a good track record of making appointments on time. I again attempted to explain and she changed her tune afterwards. Luckily I was able to have her squeeze me in but she didnāt bat an eye previously and was willing to turn me away but not to potential customers without appointments that walked in afterwards. She didnāt say no to them even if she told them there was a wait. With me, she flat out said no. I observed her exchanges with others and was appalled by the difference in her behavior towards them versus me. This was in no way how you treat one customer to the next. I thought she was friendly in previous exchanges but now? Absolutely not. Itāll be absolutely uncomfortable dealing with her in the foreseeable future and Iād hate to have another unpleasant exchange where she turns me away because God forbid I run late again due to traffic. It seems petty and childish for an older lady to play this game. Perhaps a change in personnel at the front desk and treating ALL customers, either walk-inās or with appointments, with kindness, equality and courtesy...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThe place is beautiful and the staff is friendly. However, I was trying to treat myself to an early birthday pampering session and I regret it. I spent $115, not including gratuity, as well as almost 2 hours on a fiberglass tape and powder technique and my nails did not come out well, despite my instructions. I'm inclined to believe they maybe don't do this technique too often. The nails are the width of my fingers, completely not following the dimensions of my real nails. Two people worked on my set so each hand looks slightly different. I was nicked several times to the point where every finger hurts and one bleeding more than any other time this has ever happened. The nails are so wide, it's hard to even type this review. It was unpleasant so i didn't even want to bother to spend what could be an extra 30 minutes trying to ask them to fix it or hurt me more. I could have gone to the nail salons in my neighborhood, paid a quarter of the price with quality so good people think the tips are my real nails but I wanted to have a fancy Manhattan experience. I'm sorry but lesson learned. UPDATE my nail broke after only 5 days (usually should last about 2 weeks, at minimum) at 8.30pm on a Wednesday (aka after salons have closed) before a day where I have multiple business meetings. I was disappointed previously but now I am full...
