Can’t believe I’m saying this: DONT PUT UR PHONE ON CUSTOMER’s BED, not to mention HAING IT VIBRATING DURING THE SESSION!!!
I’ve routinely had massages in LA, Japan, and NY. This is the first time ever that a masseur brought her phone with her DURING A SESSION! (Honestly I can’t even picture my other masseurs with their cellphone in their hands; that’s just basic etiquette).
This alone can stop me from coming back, but unfortunately there are other things that are pretty unpleasant:
Questionable billing. Nowhere on the website has it mentioned there’s a “customer service fee,” but they charged it as a lump sum total without even mentioning it. I only noticed it when I saw the bill.
Expanding in the first point: when I came out after done with dressing, there was no one at the front desk greeting, only the cashier machine that has already had the price (questionable lump sum) showing in front of you. The lack of decent customer service is simply appalling given its location.
Booked deep tissue for 2hrs but the person in charge only did it for 1 hr and then switched to someone else. Like, what’s the point of showing people ur expertise on website and then not do it yourself? I didn’t mind initially but the second girl was unacceptably bad.
And yup the second girl came in massaging my feet while looking at her cellphone, which was placed next to my feet, and the phone vibrated. Unfortunately she was not even a good masseur, which made it even worse. For a well 20 minutes she was only scrubbing oil on my legs instead of putting in any pressure.
The hygiene is questionable: masseurs here walk bare foot and they do step on areas where customers have their shoes on (near the door for example), and then they also stand on your bed stretch you while you are being undressed.
Had this place be in Flushing or Chinatown and charge their service for $80, it would still be bad compared to others, not to mention the price they charge.
Honestly, I don’t even mind paying for overpriced services as long as the service is decent and professional. This place is unfortunately...
Read moreI am a long time Thai massage fan and have tried many different places and providers since experiencing my first one in Thailand over 20 years ago.
I've been to Pavirin 3-4 times since I first tried them out last year, each time with a different therapist and each time my experience has been excellent. I have not tried any other types of massages they offer but can attest that their traditional Thai massage is the real deal, performed on a mat on the floor by very skilled practitioners.
The location itself easy to get to, with several trains close, the rooms nicely appointed and very clean, and the staff besides being very skilled at what they do are a pleasure to deal with very courteous. I personally don't find myself close to midtown very often or else I would visit more often, but when I need a real re-adjustment I make the trip to Pavirin and wholeheartedly recommend to all looking for an...
Read moreI come regularly and have received some of the best massages of my life here. Pavirin introduced me to Thai/combo massages and I always leave feeling relaxed and at peace. I’m thrilled that they’ve expanded their space. Highly recommend this place.
Some highlights: It’s easy to schedule massages on short notice (like 1 hour advance notice) pretty much any day of the week. Masseuses will generally walk on you with your permission (back, legs, sometimes even arms) to get really deep pressure, which I love. There’s generally some stretching which helps me leave feeling alert instead of groggy. Sometimes they use tiger balm, which feels incredible. Nice interior decor. The candies they offer up front are a nice...
