Went there for a special and was excited to possibly find something close to me for massages and possibly acupuncture.
I don’t know if I came on an off day or something but the experience was quite stressful although the massage was ok.
We opted for the 75 minute body massage. (Lasted 70 mins but did go through everything). Starting off it was clear that this was going to be a no frills experience. The smell was a bit musty and there was no real privacy as the attendant opened the curtain while we were disrobing and as people were walking by.
There were no questions about injuries or gender preference so if that’s relevant, make sure you make it known to them proactively. For me it wasn’t really that big of a deal and I figured I’d let them know as they were doing it if they were going too hard.
As we started some random lady was shouting in Chinese for a good 10 minutes and though it eventually stopped, we would get interrupted now and then by some shouting. They also decided to leave the bright fluorescent white lights on which I thought was weird for the first half but then turned it off later during the session. However the noise interruptions were throughout and I think at one point there was another customer loudly talking about going to the bathroom and then accidentally walked into our room while we were there.
The massage itself was actually not so bad. There were little nits I could complain about but it was on par with what I was expecting at the price range. The stones at the end were also surprisingly comforting as well.
Given this experience I thought a 25% tip was more than adequate but somehow they seemed a bit disappointed!
I think the best way to approach this is thus. If you’re coming here to relax, you made a mistake but if you’re following up on some back knots and want a convenient and relatively cheap option and the place is nearby, maybe it’s worth...
Read moreThe worst experience I've ever had. I went there with my friend, in the front it clearly says in big letters $28/hr foot massage, once we get there the massage therapist tries to convince us to do 30 mins back and 30 mins foot but me being pregnant I told her i couldn't do back massage so they say they can do 45 mins foot massage and we said that's fine and how much? They say 28$. So at this point we're both like why would it be $28 for 45 Mims if I'm the front it clearly states $28/hr so whatever to make a long, unpleasant story shorter the ladies are saying they have another customer coming who has an apt so they can do 45 mins and my friend and I are like "that's fine" but it should not be $28 that's false advertising... so they end up saying "ok ok we will do the hour and tell the lady to wait 15 mins" so I specifically instruct my friend to look at her time and she does. The massage was great I won't lie about that, but they end up stopping 45 mins! So I'm like ok... let's pay the 28 dollars but I will not tip.. it's just not fair not to mention deceitful! And omg all hell broke loose when the ladies realized we didn't tip they started becoming very upset saying things like "if you weren't happy you could've said something etc" then all these men start coming out from the back and we were the only ones there so we felt intimidated and it was not a good feeling the lady screamed "don't come back here!" To which we said "don't worry we will not" then this man proceeded to follow us put and down the stairs spitting on the ground and saying things in his language. Horrible horrible...
Read moreI had an awful experience. I expressed where exactly on my body I could not tolerate pressure, and the masseuse made me scream in pain three times. There was zero expertise in the way she performed the massage; it was rushed, imprecise, and I am in pain now, and was fine when I came in. She belched so many times that I was scared she was going to vomit on me. I was more tense afterward than when I came in. Awful. I wish I had just left and not paid. Horrible. Terrifying, actually. Go to Waterlily Spa on Broome & Elizabeth st instead. Those people are professionals. The woman working Friday 1/12/2024 at 8-9pm should be fired. My back is hurting as...
