Hello everyone,
I can’t recommend enough to not go here. I went to get a massage here. At the front he asked what I wanted. I communicated I was there for a deep tissue, as advertised on the website. He repeated back to me “back rub”. I corrected him and said “no, deep tissue.” He and the masseuse spoke back to one another privately and he instructed me to follow him. My masseuse was rough and a man, speaking up was hard and a little uncomfortable. This is no means a bad thing, but additionally there was a language barrier which also made communication quite difficult. He was also sick, repeatedly coughing on me. At the end, I thanked them, asked to pay with card but they insisted on cash. So I paid in cash and tipped 20% (i work in the service industry so it’s just simply obligatory for me). When I got home I noticed a bruise on my arm and then my boyfriend noticed bruises on my back. Yes, some bruising can be expected (although I’ve never had bruising from a massage before) but the additional pain that came with it definitely is not. I walked in there in less pain than I am in right now. I called them today to tell them about the bruises and to see what could be done to rectify it. He asked the time I was there and my phone number and said “oh yes ok, one second” he then hung up on me. I called again, he picked up. I said “hi I was just on the phone with you and call dropped.” He hung up immediately. I’m pretty sure they’ve blocked my number now. Do...
Read moreI called over a week prior to reserve 2 foot massages for 1 hour. I requested 2 female technicians for the massage as well. I really wanted the day to go well because I was celebrating my anniversary dinner after the massage.
The business clearly understood what I had said when I made the reservation. When I walked in with my wife for the appointment, they had NO masseuses available and then after about 15 minutes of waiting, they said they had 2 male technicians. There were 3 other customers having foot massages at the time. They clearly just took in the walk-in customers and didn’t honor my reservation.
Taiji Bodyworks is NOT running a good business and I would make sure to avoid this type of business that doesn’t respect their customers and their time. I have been a New Yorker for 15 years now and get massages on the regular all over the city. DO NOT COME IN HERE. THERE ARE SO MANY OTHER BUSINESSES THAT WILL RESPECT YOUR RESERVATIONS IN THIS...
Read moreFirstly I rarely if ever leave reviews- good or bad. Was told they honored groupon. Rate was $41.25. When I arrived they stated it would be $45 because I was paying with a card. I accepted and went back for what should have been a 60 minute massage. It ended up being 50 minutes of the worst massage of my life and I wish I was exaggerating. When I checked out, the man who gave me my massage told me it was now $46 which I pushed back on. I went to tip $10 which was generous considering how terrible it was and this massage man stared me down and said “$10? That’s it?” I was dumbfounded. He then pushed me to a $12 tip and intimidated me into paying it. Really disappointed as it’s not my first time coming in but I’m led to believe that because the Groupon rate was discounted, so was...
