I spent about an hour here getting a wash and cut. They do recommend making appointments but it wasn't too busy when I visited as a walk in on a weekday afternoon. First they did a short consultation (I asked for 1-2 inches off and long layers with curtain bangs) then I got my hair washed. It was okay, the typical scrub and a bit of a massage. After rinsing the shampoo out, they just wrapped my hair into a bun and only put a small towel around just the bun instead of my whole head (which was a first) so I had to walk over to the salon chair with water literally dripping down my head.
I was assigned to Sam during this visit since I was a walk in. He even asked if I wanted any water or drinks which was a nice gesture. His station was very clean and the brushes were also clean and free of other people's hair which was a good sign. During the cut, Sam was very meticulous with trimming my wet hair. Then he blow dried it and trimmed and thinned it some more. This is honestly when I should've stopped him because it was thinned way too much for my liking. I walked in with hair around the midback and it had a lot of volume and dimension as I don't dye or perm it. But my final haircut, there were too many layers and my ponytail is measly and thin. I felt like all the hair I had been growing out is all gone. The curtain bangs were the only thing that turned out sort of decent. I was shocked at how much of my hair I saw on the floor...I won't be cutting my hair again anytime soon as I have to let this cut grow out. For new visitors, I'd recommend that you go in with a picture so at least you won't walk out with half your hair gone...but prepare your expectations.
They allow you to pay via credit (2.5% charge) and add tip that way so no need to bring cash if you don't have any. There seemed to a lot of people dyeing their hair so that might be this...
Read moreI had gotten my hair done about a month ago and I am in love. Prior to walking into the salon, I had called and was not sure which service to book myself under since I had some questions about my hair and the promo they had running. However, the girl on the phone was very helpful and she told me to send pictures of my hair and helped me to book a consultation with Moses. When I first walked into the salon, it was kind of busy but Moses had told me to take a seat and offered me water, snacks, etc. When he was able to see me, we had done a consultation and I was able to address which service I wanted, as well as some concerns I had about my hair. For instance, I wanted to do a balayage with some highlights and showed a few reference pictures from my my phone. I told Moses that my current hair had a few years of box-dyed red and black color on it. I also did not want to further damage my hair with bleach so I mentioned that to Moses. He told me that he wouldn't be able to fully get the hair color that I wanted without compromising the integrity of my hair and asked if that was okay and if I wanted to proceed. I told him yes and we began the process. It took a while since we needed to strip my hair of the black and red from the previous box-dye. There was a moment that I was scared that my hair was going to be bright orange but Moses told me not to worry and to trust the process. Both Jason and Moses were working on my hair and made sure to take their time. In fact, the salon closes at 8 but we finished everything around 9. They both did such an amazing job and I'm glad Moses was able to achieve the haircolor & hairstyle that I wanted, even with all of the concerns that I...
Read moreThis is the true hidden gem of Flushing. Its hidden away in the lower lobby of the Sheraton hotel on 39th ave (take the elevator on the left side of the lobby). The staff here are nothing short of amazing. So kind and accommodating and willing to work with you to make sure you leave feeling confident and beautiful! I am Puerto Rican with fine curly hair and was searching for a salon in the Flushing area. If you have curly hair, then you know how tricky it can be to find someone you can trust. I sent an email to see if anyone at the salon could work on curly hair and was contacted promptly by their manager, Lisa. We discussed my concerns and not only did we arrange a consultation (which I highly recommend doing), but she also recommended other salons that may help if they werent a good fit. I respect and appreciate their honesty and the way they look out for the customer's needs!
I was recommend Sam, one of the more experienced stylists. Not only was he incredibly kind and accommodating, but he very much knew what he was doing! He communicated well throughout the process and was very gentle cutting and styling my hair. He also recommended hairstyles to help me look and feel my best. And the recommended styles worked with both straight AND curly hair. I left feeling super pretty and...
