I recently visited this spa with my partner for a 30-minute couples massage, and unfortunately, it was a very disappointing experience. We decided to walk in without a reservation, drawn in by the high ratings we saw on Google.
Once inside, two male staff members began our massage, but they were loud and disruptive, laughing and conversing in Chinese/Mandarin throughout the session. While this might have been tolerable, what really disturbed us was the content of their conversation.
As individuals of Chinese ethnicity, we understood most of what they were saying, and it was shocking to hear them bad-mouthing other clients. One staff member spoke about a time when their boss called to ask why they hadn't opened yet, and he nonchalantly admitted to keeping the spa closed simply because he was "lazy." They continued to discuss a client who had come in for a 25-minute foot massage and only tipped $5. The staff member scoffed at this, saying, "Might as well not tip if you're just tipping $5." This conversation only escalated as he shared more crude stories about female clients. The other staff member laughed heartily, responding with comments like, "OMG, that's so funny I could die". The fact that I was lying there, completely unclothed, while hearing two men sharing these degrading stories about women was beyond unsettling. It was an incredibly invasive and unprofessional atmosphere, and we felt very uncomfortable throughout the entire service.
After the session, we felt compelled to express our dissatisfaction. We tipped just $1 for the two staff members, which visibly shocked the woman at the front deskâpresumably the manager. We shared our concerns about the inappropriate conversation we had overheard, and one of the men admitted that the service was indeed poor.
I typically donât write reviews, but I felt it was necessary to warn others about this experience. I genuinely do not understand how this spa has such high ratings, and I suspect many reviews may have been coerced from clients right after their sessions. I would strongly advise anyone considering this spa to look elsewhereâthere are far better options in Flushing that prioritize professionalism and...
Read moreMy two friends and I tried out this spa for the first time together. We arrived at different times and therefore, started our massage sessions at slightly different times. Based off of my own experience at this spa, I would have given it five stars, but after hearing what happened to one of my friends, I am giving them one star and strongly urge everyone to not support this business.
My masseuse's name was Eva, and she was excellent. I chose to do a 30 minute foot massage and a 30 minute body massage. She was very thorough and massaged every part of my body, and I felt great after. She also kept asking me if I was cold because there was an AC unit in my room. She felt that I was a bit cold and turned the AC down without me asking her. She was very friendly and pleasant, and I really enjoyed my massage session. The rooms were very tight but still were clean and orderly. While getting my massage, I even thought about coming back here more frequently because I was happy with the service.
After my friends and I finished our massages, my friend told me about her experience when she first arrived. My friend doesn't speak fluent Chinese and therefore used English to communicate with the receptionist. The staff must have thought that my friend didn't understand Chinese at all and started to make fun of her, discussing and laughing amongst each other, "Who is going to massage the fat girl? Who wants her?" My friend, not wanting to ruin our day and spa experience, decided not to say anything and got her massage.
It is truly disappointing, hurtful, and unacceptable that this happened to my friend. We all will never be returning to this spa or its other Manhattan location. I am not sure if this lady at the front desk was the owner of the spa or just a staff member (she was the one coordinating all of the appointments and payments), but I highly urge you all not to give business to this place that would speak negatively about a customer right in front of them.
I would not recommend this place at all which is a shame because I actually thought my experience with Eva was quite pleasant. If you do choose to come to this spa, I would highly recommend you ask for Eva,...
Read moreI'm thrilled with my massage experience today! As a first-time visitor, I was impressed by Wong Dong's expertise in identifying the areas of tension in my back. I've been experiencing some of the worst neck and upper back pain of my life, but after the massage, I felt a significant improvement. Wong Dong was not only skilled but also polite and attentive throughout the session. May, at the front desk, was friendly and helpful in guiding me through the best options. As a bonus, I received a promotion offering $50 free with a $300 purchase, which I plan to use for my weekly visits going forward. I thoroughly enjoyed my experience and extend my gratitude to May and Wong Dong for their exceptional service. I'm looking forward to my next appointment!
Update 3/18/25:
I'm delighted to share an outstanding experience at Wild Flower Spa! After purchasing a massage package, I've returned multiple times and consistently received exceptional service.
Today, I treated myself to a Deep Cleaning Facial with Jessie, a highly skilled esthetician with over 20 years of experience. The facial was truly phenomenal! Jessie meticulously cleaned my pores, expertly massaged my face, and applied a rejuvenating mask.
What impressed me most was Jessie's professionalism, kindness, and attentiveness. She focused on providing a personalized experience, rather than pushing unnecessary upgrades.
I highly recommend visiting Wild Flower Spa for a facial, and specifically request Jessie for an unforgettable treatment. Five stars isn't enough â I'd give it ten...
