Updated Review: May 23rd to May 25th is their grand opening weekend & they're having a BOGO all drinks promotion. It didn't have to be the same drink! The one of lesser value will be discounted to 0. Expect lines and wait time to be longer than usual. Disclaimer: the rating for this place may also be inflated since the store is also offering freebies (totebag/cardholder) for a Google review.
I appreciate that their staff tried to move everything along as quickly & smoothly as possible. If you aren't looking for any modifications made to your drink, there's an express line to place your order and receive a drink that's already been made, which I thought was a good touch to keep things moving.
Store is a little small, but has a bench seating and about 4 small round tables. By the ordering & pick up station, there's some room for people to wait for their orders. They have a monitor to show which orders are being made, and which ones are ready for pick up.
Drinks I ordered: Brown Sugar Creamy Fresh Milk (Large: $7.39) 1 with no sugar, 1 with 50% sugar, both with no ice This drink was only okay/mediocre. It's mostly milk with brown sugar boba, then topped with a cream foam. From the name, I was under the impression that the drink itself would be creamy/thicker in consistency/texture. The boba was more chewy (a flat chewy? if that makes sense) than QQ/bouncy, which wasn't to my preference. I wanted 30% sugar originally, but they said they couldn't do that, which is why I got 50% sugar. Mightve been too sweet though.
Premium Jasmine Green Tea Latte (Large: $6.59) 30% sugar, no ice Definitely preferred this to the brown sugar boba drink. The Jasmine tea flavor was strong, and sweetness level was just right for me.
Strawberry Green Milk Tea Daifuku (Large:$7. 69) 50% sugar, no ice This one was a little interesting; the strawberry green tea has a hint of a floral taste. The toppings in here seem to be mochi and milk jelly. Both toppings have a lighter flavor, but the mochi is thicker in texture whereas the milk jelly is a jelly.
I wanted to try the Mango Pomelo Sago, but unfortunately they didn't have it in stock.
Personally, I probably wouldn't come here again unless they had another promotion. If you've never tried their drinks before, I'd still say to give it a shot - you never know if the drinks can be to...
Read morePerson taking orders is efficient and the line moves pretty quickly despite the crowd Edit: My second time, I waited about 30min after ordering to receive my drink. Not to order - to get it after paying. It was busy but considering how many people were working the drink stations (at least 8), that's excessive. It's very inefficient to keep making the "popular" drinks if nobody's taking them and they're sitting out on the counter melting, while the backlog of orders pile up. Roughly one drink was coming out per min, which is crazy for 8 people behind the counters, excluding the order taker? Something's definitely not right.
Also, CALL OUT THE ORDER NUMBER AFTER IT'S READY, instead of making the customer come and ask to check for their order! This is such an easy and instant fix to a bottleneck and should've been automatic. My drinks were finally packed, but all these people were asking for their orders that weren't out yet and the staff was checking them 1 by 1, and more of my time was wasted. If the staff just called out after finishing I could simply pick it up, and everyone wouldn't be there asking about theirs in the first place. The person can call out once and move on, and just those who missed their order can crowd the pickup area. Every cafe does this, I don't understand. (I'm leaving a 1 star temporarily so the management hopefully sees and implements this)
As for the drinks, the mango was good but the strawberry green tea daifuku tasted a little bland. The mochi and milk pudding or whatever the topping was is tasty though. I tried a bit of red gluttonous rice and that...
Read moreBoba Tea Review: Auntea Jenny – Flushing, NY
Auntea Jenny just opened in Flushing and it’s already making waves in the bubble tea scene. With a wide-ranging menu packed with milk teas, fruity punches, and refreshing specialty drinks, there’s truly something for everyone. Whether you’re craving something creamy or citrusy, they’ve got you covered.
I dropped by during their grand opening and, while the wait was a bit longer than usual (understandably so), the staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating—definitely worth the patience.
My top picks? The Mango Pomelo Sago is a must-try—rich, tropical, and layered with flavor. It’s one of those drinks you might say is “so good, I’ll try it again in my next life.” I also loved the mango and strawberry flavors; both are fresh, vibrant, and perfect for warm days. If you’re into citrusy teas, don’t miss the lemon juice tea punch or the strawberry crystal green tea punch—super refreshing and ideal for beating the heat.
All in all, Auntea Jenny is a fantastic new addition to Flushing. With great flavors, kind service, and tons of options to explore, it’s definitely worth a...
