Oliver Peoples — Local services in New York

I own multiple Oliver Peoples frames and never hated it. I give 2 stars just for the brand and its high quality product. 3 stars off from receiving a questionable product delivery experience from this store.

I was gonna travel to other country and was visiting this store to get a new pare of prescription sunglasses. I was afraid that I won't be able to get it within a time I have til my trip and they said that I should be able to pick up before then.

But on a day of scheduled pickup, I got a call saying that lenses were broken in the procedure so the piece won't be ready before I leave to trip. I asked them to ship it to where I stay and they said yes. It sounded ok until it got caught by custom and I had to pay for the custom. Now I am waiting on their response of my reimbursement for extra cost which I probably wouldn't never expect. Store manager said 'There is nothing we can do if you are charged from Korea's customs department.'. Not sure if that is something I should be heard if the item wasn't ready because of their faulty crafting.

Not pleasing experience at such a luxury brand store and especially if you had to deal with international...

I just went into the store to pick up my sunglasses that went in for a repair. One of the sides broke off and they charged $210 for the repair. When I went in I realized they may have double charged me, but the store employee said they replaced both sides as it is store policy. Then I tried them on and they fit and felt different on my face as the ends were scratching the side of my head. I asked her to make it looser, but realized the tightness was good we just needed the backs to move outwards. I asked her to make them tighter and she said the glasses aren’t strong enough to do so as one of the sides is loose (which I just paid $210 to fix) and I said how if you just fixed them? She said I can make them tighter if you are okay with the possibility they break. Unsure if this is Oliver people’s culture or just this specific store. If I pay top notch for something I would hope that the customer service and repair would be good as well. Then they commented on this review to email them but...

I've been a customer at this store since 2021, and a fan of Oliver Peoples frames (both appearance and quality) for many years. I have recommended the Brookfield Oliver Peoples to whomever will listen!

Vanessa (store manager) has always been fantastic - warm, personable, knowledgeable, and with a good eye for selecting frames that will suit her clients. It's no surprise that my husband and I came in when he needed new frames. I didn't think it possible, but Genesis and Frandy are equally outstanding in terms of warmth, professionalism, and a keen eye for frames. I ended up picking up a new pair for myself as well, and we are both very happy with our frames.

They were very patient and accommodating when my husband had a last minute change of heart about the color of his frame, too, and helped us to make that change.

I'll also add that they have been terrific with ongoing maintenance of frames (I've popped in for adjustments when I've needed them).
