UPDATE TO PREVIOUS REVIEW: (You can see my initial experience below.) Upon seeing my review, the business owner did contact me to make things right. He's assured me they're working to make their website more accurate and that my experience was not typical of the customer service they pride their small business on. He apologized and has offered a discount to a future purchase. My experience with the business owner was pleasant and immediately helpful. I did get refunded for the items that were out of stock and I will consider purchasing from this business in the future. I am adding stars because this small business did respond to feedback and was very responsive regarding my previous feedback.

PREVIOUS REVIEW: Do not order online from this store! Their online orders are handled by some third-party service that doesn't answer the phone and requests communication via text message. I have zero faith in the legitimacy of the online order system. I placed my order online and received an email confirming my order, stating that I would not be charged until my items shipped. I was charged immediately for a purchase over $500 and never received notification the items were shipped. After 10 days, sending an email with no response, placing a phone call with no answer, and sending a text message, I finally got a text message response indicating that my order had been cancelled due to inventory errors on the website. It's been almost two weeks and my credit card still has not been refunded. Plenty of people seem to appreciate the brick and mortar business, but the online portion of the business feels like a fraud. I will dispute the charges with my CC company and I don't plan to ever use this store again. Their customer service for the online portion is terrible. They should not provide online ordering. Pure disappointment. I had such a bad experience with the point shoe fitter at this store. My daughter just got approved for point by her dance teacher. I know how special it is for a dancer to get her first pair of point shoes. The timing worked out that we would be in NYC on her birthday. Her dance instructor was on standby on the phone waiting for pics so she could also be apart of the process. From the second we arrived at the store the fitter was completely dismissive. We made an appointment for the fitting a week in advanced. We arrived a few minutes early, she arrived after us and did not let us in the store. She told us to wait and never came back for us. Another associate let us in wondering why we were just standing there. When she found out we were from out of state, she tried to get us to leave. When we reassured her the dance teacher was OK with it, she then said, well your feet look too small and that she probably didn't have shoes to fit her. When we asked to just try, she threw a few shoes at her. One was a close fit but the other shoes didn't fit at all. The fitter expected us to buy the one that was a close fit. When I expressed, I wasn't comfortable bc she really had nothing to compare it to, she charged us a $20 fitting fee and we left. I don't care about the fee bc it was clear on the website, but was overall disappointed on how we were treated. Today was my daughter's 11th birthday and her first time trying on point shoes and she left embarrassed. She refused to go to other stores after that in fear for the same treatment. I don't recommend going for a first point...

This store has unprofessional pointe shoe fitters ! Went to store one hour before closing. Two customers were helped by two people . Said I want to buy pointe shoes because old one died . One of fitters literally yelled :”If you don’t buy you pay $25 !” I replied we are buying we need the right size because last time was given wrong shoes ! One man came to help and after few tries a third customer who was getting tap shoes was upset because they didn’t have her size and they wanted to charge her $25 ! She said why would I pay if you don’t have my size ! Not buying because you don’t have my size ! The man who was helping my child to get pointe shoes started to argue with her and stopped helping us and doing both customers in the same time . After few minutes he threatened my child you have one more try because I have another customer after you ! Another mom with her child came in ! I said why would you take her if you didn’t finish with us ? He said you pay $25 and come another day because someone else just walk in the store ! Explain we need the shoe for tomorrow and it’s not professional! He said take the shoes I say so and go ! He sold wrong size ! He sold 3 widths too small ! Went to another store and they explained how we were sold intentionally wrong size ! My child had hip injuries and posture problems because of this store ! Don’t recommend it ! Be aware !
