I’ve been to Italy numerous times and honestly this place is far from what Italy and their products stand for. I’m a local and I’m very familiar with new and older businesses in the area. Although the cuban lady who works there is kind and welcoming, unfortunately that’s not enough to keep a business running. The place still has christmas decorations inside in the middle of April, it truly needs some love and a nice visual representation of Italy as an Italian mini market in the Heights. Inside it looks dark and depressing, place some nice lights inside and some nice decor that draws people in or hire some people to help build the business. Seriously.
In addition, this business is always closed. They’re closed Sundays and Mondays and at times they close for days sometimes WEEKS without even leaving a sign or a note letting customers know when they’ll be back or if they’re permanently closed and then randomly re-open as if they don’t need the business. Part of having a successful business also means being communicative and considerate with your customers in order to get them to keep coming back. A business that’s always closed won’t succeed because it can’t generate revenue, serve customers, or build a reputation in the neighborhood. I’ll move on to other Italian markets in the city that deserve my loyalty, time, money and attention, everyone else will do the same in the long run if this business keeps operating this way and pushing...

It is amazing how many businesses in the customer service space can forget the customer. I arrived to the location at 6:30 pm excited and eager pick out some items for some visiting guest when I was greeting with "sorry we can not get you prosciutto because we already cleaned the machine, the buffalo mozzarella was frozen" and a general disposition as if I was bothering them. It surprised me even more that the lack of customer service was coming from the "owner:" She suggested I return the next morning. Insane.
With prices so high every customer should be honored during the operational hours. If cleaning machines takes away from the business get another machine or clean after the customer request is fulfilled. This is customer service. My order would have taken 10 minutes at most but will NEVER return to this space. Flor de Mayo down the street is a kinder option or just heading down to Little Italy for your needs would be a much...

This Italian market is truly a gem in the neighborhood — hands down the most authentic Italian selection you’ll find anywhere nearby. The sandwiches they serve at lunchtime are absolutely delicious, but what really makes this place special is the perfect blend of authenticity and heart.
The owner is one of the kindest, most genuine people you’ll ever meet — a beautiful soul who makes you feel like family the moment you walk in. I’d spend my last dollar here just to support her and what she’s created.
It’s an absolute treat to have this market in the neighborhood — the kind of place that reminds you what community and great food are all...
