(I went to this office last year) The doctors are nice, but the staff is really inhospitable and borderline incompetent. I had to get 3 wisdom teeth pulled out in two separate sessions. I was curious if I could instead just do all three teeth in one session and so I called the dental office after the consultation, a day or two before the surgery, to ask and the receptionist was not only rude but unhelpful. I wasn’t able to get in touch with the doctor before the actual surgery, even though he said I should call if I have any questions.
The first round of recovery was quite bad and I had some complications. I called the office a few times to get some advice on what to do, and the receptionist’s attitude/responses to me were consistently rude. I felt like my situation was being minimized and that I was on my own in terms of recovery. It came to a point where I tried to not call the office unless I absolutely had to ask a question since my interactions with the receptionists were always so unpleasant.
I went in for an impromptu appointment when I thought I was developing dry socket. The doctor I saw (different from the doctor who did the surgery) was nice at first and said she would put something in my mouth to seal the wound. I started tearing up because of how painful the procedure was, but no one asked me if I was okay. Once the doctor left, the dental assistant started telling me that I should come back to get the gauze taken out of my mouth. I didn’t realize they had put gauze in my mouth (the new substance felt like a paste) so I asked her to explain but she looked at me as if I was dumb and became really condescending, even though up until that point no one had explained what was put in my mouth to cover the wound.
Before the first surgery, I asked the doctor who did the surgery about using a saline syringe during recovery because that's what all of my friends had to use during their recoveries. He told me no and didn't give me a syringe. When I returned for the official follow-up appointment (after the dry socket issue began to improve), he was shocked that I wasn't flushing the wound with a syringe and said that he never told me to not use one. But no one gave me one? The lack of proper instructions must have contributed to my terrible recovery period.
My teeth turned out fine, but I wouldn’t recommend this office. They made the whole recovery process so much more difficult than it needed to be - emotionally...
Read morethe staff and surgeon were absolutely wonderful, from the ladies at the front desk to the dental assistants to the actual surgeon. the owner if this establishment should know how great a staff she has. one thing that stands out was the dental assistant, i wish i could remember her name so i can give her the credit she is due but she was THE best. i had a very painful procedure done and her bedside manner was extremely calming and comforting. i even told her that she picked the right career, a lot of people are afraid if dentists office but i guarantee after visiting your facility a lot of peoples have a new improved outlook on the entire experience and a big reason for that would be that particular employees actions. (everyone else was great too she just stand out).
anyway, have a great day, thank you for helping me through a miserable and painful experience, and keep doing what you're doing because its working. i cant remember the last time i took the time to write a review, i never do because im a believer in “if you dont have anything nice to say do t say it at all” and TBH a good customer service experience is so rare in NYC now a days i dont think anyone even expects it anymore.
thank you
PS. Give that assistant a raise! my name is Steve and i...
