Edit 2: I have removed the polish because my fingernails were so sore. HEAVILY DAMAGED, including scratches on the surface of my nail and even pieces of nail peeling right out from the nailbed. I can feel my nails bend even while doing something so mundane as scratch myself. Please do not visit this establishment they will damage your nails. Posting image of the after (polish removal), just one day post-manicure. Edit: had to drop to 1 stars because both index finger nails are sore the next day. I had a manicure and pedicure experience here. Although the ladies here are really nice and provide good customer service, and a surprise 4 minute massage during drying, overall I would not recommend it. I opted for a dip powder manicure and regular pedicure. During the manicure they filed my previous gel manicure off multiple times while the acetone did its thing. After the gel fell off however, they continued to file the top of the nail off. I was confused at this point but I'm not the professional here so I did not interrupt the process. After filing off the top of my nails, they also buffed them. So for the manicure, they dipped approximately 6 times and afterwards she proceeded to file the top of the manicure again! Yes, my manicure is not smooth at all, it is grainy looking and inconsistent. The pedicure was much better but I noticed they removed gel polish by peeling it on one toe. I am used to gel removal by soaking for ~20 minutes and then a plastic scraper, which is much gentler on the nails. All said and done, my nails were noticeably weaker. Sadly, the C curve on my nail is also less apparent. My nails are usually strong and can take a lot but having them filed down from the top really messed them up. The price for dip powder is about ~$50, for the price the quality is not there.

This place is a a real gem! Highly recommended! I’ve been coming here for 14 years and I cannot go anywhere else. Believe me when I say that I also come all the way from Brooklyn because it’s worth the trip! Everybody is super sweet and very professional and they treat you like a queen! Waxing with attention, pedicure and manicure are amazing, not to mention the massage! Love Love Pema Nails!! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Great service and prices. The nail techs are so sweet and accommodating unlike many other nail salons that are rude. I drive across Queens to get my gel nails done here due to their mannerisms and my nails don’t chip after a few days. Definitely going to become a regular here! :)

terrible, terrible, terrible! if i could give this establishment -0 stars, i most definitely would! i went in for a powder gel service completely unaware that the tech i sat with had nooooo idea what she was doing! it started with my soak off.. (she didn't even know how to do that!) anyway, i sat down gave her my nails & she went to work.. legit only soaked my nails in acetone for about 8 mins & started to file down my nails (with a manual file).. she filed down soo much that my natural nails were red & burning!! not only did she file down too much, but she was ripping the left over dip powder from my natural nails ouchhh! after the terrible soak off.. she proceeded to place my fingers in a bowl of water i was confused because i've never had to do this with dip powder, but okay (i was "trusting the process") after 5 mins of the water bowl soak she started cleaning my cuticles.. after she was done with the cuticles she begins to paint my nails with the activator & dip them into the powder now here is where i began to get upset... she is dipping my nails into the powder, but she is not brushing off the excess powder after every dip & then she asks " if i wanted to leave it at 2 dips or if i would like her to dip them for a 3rd time" i looked at her with so much confusion.. like mam' what do you think.. anywho, she leaves it with 2 dips & starts to file & shape my nails... after she shaped them she started painting my nails with CLEAR NAIL POLISH & takes me to the nail dryer.. omg! i took a look at my nails under the natural sunlight & i immediately said NO! & told her to take this off now!! with a confused look on her face she asked me, "what happened, what was it that i didn't like" & i told her they look horrible! it was gritty, sloppy & disgusting.. (it looked like a child did my nails!)she takes me back to her table & begins the horrible soak off process.. omg, i left there with my nails in soo much pain!!! still one month later & my nails are still healing!!! if you can help it, please, please, please STAY AWAY from PEMA...

  • 4/27/23 * Everyone at Pema Nails is always so incredibly friendly. They do there absolute best to make you comfortable and happy. This has probably been my fifth or sixth time hear. Not once have I been unsatisfied with the services. Today I got a back & shoulder massage in addition to my manicure & I truly feel like I can stand and walk better. The staff hear are definitely experts in there field and know what there doing. I think I'm going to have to treat myself every other week to a massage and manicure.

First Review came to Pema for a spa pedicure and a manicure and was completely satisfied with my experience. I felt the place was clean and the staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming. I ended up doing a lavender spa pedicure because although I really wasn't aware what it involved I wanted the extra pampering and calus removed and it came w a foot and leg massage . Every time I thought my pedicure was finished they did more things. In the future I will come back for a regular pedicure and maybe do the fancier one once or twice a year. I was happy w my experience so much I plan to come back once or twice a month for a basic manicure and pedicure. I must not be the only one because there was plenty of people hear enjoying a variety...
