To preface this review, the actual Thai food served here is not bad. In fact, it's close to actually being pretty good. However, it's the environment that surrounds it that really let me down during my dinner here.

Food: 6/10 My party ordered mostly curry dishes along with an order of basil fried rice, which we all found to be quite fresh and flavorful. We specifically ordered the green curry (pictured) and Penang curry, and both proved to be quite satisfying. However, where we were disappointed was in the drinks we were served. We ordered the Thai Ice Tea (3rd picture), the Virgin Mojito (1st picture), and the Lychee Thai Ice Tea (4th picture). The Lychee Thai Ice Tea was not at all what we expected, as instead of Thai tea with Lychee flavor, we just got Lychee juice, which was very underwhelming to say the least. The Virgin Mojito was also quite disappointing, as the abundance of mint made it near impossible to enjoy the actual flavors present in the drink. Impressive food, depressive drinks.

Ambience: 3/10 My party arrived at 8pm on a Monday night, so we expected them to be somewhat busy. However, we were taken to the very back of their restaurant, a grey room with lacking air conditioning, appalling decor and an abundance of mosquitos. At times my party would have honestly rather have sat outside than put up with the conditions of our seating. However, a waitress later overheard our complaints and turned on the A/C, which definitely helped with our experience.

Service: 2/10 It took at least 10 minutes for them to get us our table in the back (a completely empty section), another 10 to have our order taken, at least 30 for them to prepare our food (3 curry bowls, 1 rice dish), and once we got our food, we were unable to get a waiter to give us more water or rice for 20 minutes. Some people who were obviously employees of the restaurant heard us and just completely ignored us, and it made us feel very unwelcome in the establishment. We honestly had more mosquitos than servers around our table the entire night. To top it off, once it came time to pay the check, nobody came to collect it, and our party had to walk to the front to remind them we existed and pay for the meal.

Overall, this restaurant serves its purpose as an easy halal go-to spot for some relatively cheap Thai food, but they lack in so many other areas that I cannot say with confidence that their dining experience is worth anyone's night out. As takeout though? A...

I recently dined at Eatzy Thai and I must say it was one of the worst dining experiences I've ever had. From start to finish, everything about this place was a disappointment. As soon as we were seated, there was already a horrible smell. However, I already paid a deposit fee for the seats, so we couldn’t leave. We went for kbbq, and when they brought out the meat, they already cooked it from the back 90%. What is the point of paying $50 per person to experience kbbq, when they already cooked it for us?

When we were finally seated, our waiter took an eternity to come and take our order. Our drinks took another 30 minutes to arrive The food itself was atrocious. We were a total of 7 people and we got their kbbq which was supposed to be their specialty, but it was barely edible. The meat was overcooked and dry, the vegetables were soggy and flavorless, and the presentation was unappetizing. My companion's meal was equally disappointing, with bland flavors and a cold, undercooked texture. For the prices they charge, I expected much higher quality.

Speaking of prices, this place is outrageously expensive for what they offer. I must mention the mango juice I ordered. I was shocked to see an $8 charge for a single glass. Expecting something special, I was incredibly disappointed when it arrived. The juice tasted like it was from a cheap store-bought concentrate, overly sweet with none of the fresh, vibrant flavors one expects from real mangoes. Given the poor service and subpar food, the high prices felt like a slap in the face. I left feeling completely ripped off and regretting every penny spent.

I even tried to talk to the manager to give us a discounted price and he would not help at all. He just told me to come back and eat there again. Overall, I would not recommend Eatzy Thai to anyone. The combination of horrible service, terrible food, and expensive prices makes it a place to avoid at all costs. Save your time, money, and taste buds and...

I normally don’t leave reviews, but if you need to eat here get takeout. The food is not bad, the service is horrible. I’ve dined in several times and service is always slow, but never had such a poor experience as our last visit. A group of four of us went on Monday night when there were 2 other small tables, took awhile for our order to be taken but after the food arrived none of the waitresses ever returned, not to refill water or ask how the food was (two of the orders were incorrect), and not even to give the bill. Although there were waitresses walking around, and several chatting up front, we had to literally walk to the front of the restaurant to let them know we were ready to pay, then go BACK up and hand them the payment once they brought the check because no one came to get it. Then, instead of returning the credit card to the table, I watched as the waitress who charged the card carried it with her to another table and spoke with the guests there for several minutes with it in her hands before returning to the front with it again. I had to then go back up to the front a third time to request to get my credit card back with the receipt to sign for it. Just trying to get the bill and get out of the restaurant was like a 35 minute ordeal, with only two other tables being serviced. I usually tip generously for good service and 20% for standard service. The friends I was dining with work in the food service industry as cooks and insisted that we didn’t leave a tip due to the incredibly poor service and half the ordered items being incorrect despite the restaurant being essentially empty, and after we left the restaurant one of the waitresses came after us on the sidewalk and questioned us about how we liked the service…..? I couldn’t believe it at the point it was the most attention we got and the only time a waitress checked on us all night and we were literally outside the establishment, I would not recommend dining in at this...

When your friend is hankering for Thai food and wants to try a new place other than your usual, you go with curiosity, and obviously with your usual big appetite (hoping that this new place wont disappoint your hunger pangs, of course). Eatzy Thai in Astoria was not what we expected. First of all, this was our first halal Thai resto. Who would’ve thought there is so, but it makes sense when you have a population who only eats halal. On the aside, I love when i learn something truly new when trying out new places. They dont serve pork, btw, in case you want to try them out, too; otherwise, they have the usual Thai offering. I must say though that their pad thai was outstanding. I was too focused on this dish that I cant adequately say I paid attention to the other dishes we ordered. In any case, different palates might have different opinions and preferences. Service was quick, servers were very nice and polite and friendly. Prices were reasonable, and if you want some hotpot in the colder days ahead, they have hotpot area behind the main dining, and outside at the back is their Korean bbq dining area. This is a pretty interesting resto with the 3 different dining areas. We will have to try those two some other time. In the meanwhile, try them out. Oh also, as they are halal, they dont serve alcohol, and as one server pointed out, even if I said virgin pina colada, ill never get anything otherwise😆.
