Back in NY for the holidays, one of the few things you miss from here is a good bagel and pizza. When Brooklyn Bagel first opened up, it was a great place to have breakfast, and you could always count on having a good bagel. But thru the years, service and quality has gone down. An everything bagel with lox spread is now 7 and change, we can understand inflation. But there is no reason why a customer has to walk back to a store to complain about the amount of lox spread that was placed on the bagel. When I did, the young lady showed it to the guy servicing the bagels, and then he questions me, and I said yes I ordered an everything bagel lightly toasted with lox spread, look at it, would you pay the amount I did for the amount on it, he takes the same bagel added more to it, wrapped it with the same wrapper without the bag, hands it to me and I said thank you. I get home, the same lightly toasted bagel had the same amount of spread on it, but he added lox to it and it is now cold. I am not walking back to the store to confront the same employees and manager there today. In fact, I won't be going to your store...

So I'm from New York for a very long time and I am particular about my bagels. Gotta have an Everything, well-done, toasted dark, butter on the side. They make a very high quality one on-site - crispy crust, nice risen inside, not bloatedly plump.

For those who like other toppings/spreads, I have never seen such an elaborate variety of appealing sweet, savory, spicy you name it - several dozen choices - something for everyone. Looks really good but I just like the butter.

Very popular place but can generally find a comfy spot to sit. Friendly clientele. Line may be out the door but it moves very fast - no worries. Their system stymies me a bit - never sure whether to order at the left food area or at the front counter but either way it seems to work out. Friendly, motivated, accommodating staff.

Very tasty coffee too, by the way. They do...

The only reason for 2 stars is because the bagels are awesome. Recently they’ve started a new digital ordering and fulfillment system and it’s ruined them. Lines take so much longer, everyone behind the counter looks disorganized, orders come out wrong. Plus, if you try to skip the line with their online app ordering you’ll just be more frustrated. Took over an hour for them to make my order of a dozen bagels and two sandwiches. Ordered at 10:10am, email said it’d be ready at 10:55 (crazy enough already) and when I arrived they JUST started putting it together. Wasn’t done until 11:15, didn’t realize it until I was already gone but not only did they take over an hour but the order was wrong. They should go back to the old system, it was a better and...

This is a popular local bagel shop located along Broadway in Astoria. They offer a wide variety of bagels, flavored cream cheeses, and drinks like coffee, perfect for breakfast or brunch. You can dine in or take out. The bagels are large and filling, and they’re always generous with the cream cheese! Here are my two favorites: 1) Multigrain bagel with smoked salmon, avocado, and cream cheese. It’s hearty, flavorful, and feels healthy. 2) Blueberry bagel with blueberry cream cheese. Slightly sweet and simple. If you’re in Astoria, this spot is definitely worth checking out!

Edit to add: may 29th I should have learned my lesson but I never do. Ordered a lox bagel for 14 dollars and got ripped off again. And they didnt even send it on the correct bagel. About to give up on brooklyn bagel entirely. I still like the bagels but the quality of how the sandwiches are made has declined soooo much. I probably order weekly from here and I've gotten burnt bagels, liquified cream cheese and barely any lox (only 2 slices that's not the 1/4 lb noted on the menu) on a 20 dollar sandwhich. Quality is hit or miss which is upsetting on delivery orders.

Would’ve given 3.5 stars, maybe I was unlucky. My toasted coconut bagel ($1.40) was chewy and seemed like it was from yesterday; tofu cream cheese ($2.15) was ok, but I had better. Coffee is average neither good or bad. Employees were nice. The place itself is very small and cramped. No outside seating. Most likely you’ll need to wait for a place to sit. Some customers are rude, saw the lady walked to a table and asked two girls to empty seats even though they haven’t finished eating. I would suggest to save your nerves and order only to go if the place’s busy.
