From the time I walked into the door my greeting as a walk in was not welcoming. The place was pretty empty but the way that I was being asked what services I came to get was a rushed process. A simple gel manicure and pedicure is what I requested to the nail tech who was playing host while the original host stepped out. Once I was seated from an uncomfortable greeting and terrible detailed description which was giving to the nail technician who would be doing my services. Once she started working on my pedicure the nail tech begin asking me what nail and toe services would I get today and why wasn't I getting gel polish. Excuse me? How do you not know what services I am getting? Maybe if the nail tech who was playing host was not rushing me and was professional as well as polite she would be able to properly tell you what services I requested. After the rushed and terrible gel pedicure where my feet later that evening were still dry and ashy due to the lack of effort/work that was put into my pedicure. I was then moved to get my nails done, the nail tech ripped my nail down to the skin and did not apologize instead she made it seem as if my nails were in bad condition. I was never discounted, the nail tech who was watching over her who terribly greeted me did not say a word at all. Instead they spoke in another language pointing at it but never once asked was I okay with it. Needless to say I will never go back to this primp and polish nail salon it should be undone and unprofessional nail salon on Grand St. I would hope that the other locations are nothing like this and the nail technician as well as the greeter gain more knowledge and experience with the technic along with professionalism in a nail salon. I am nail technician myself in Los Angeles I know what the job duty requires and how treat paying customers should be treated. I thought taking a day off of work and sitting back getting pampered at the nail salon would be bliss. This experiences was nothing close to relaxing or bliss. I WILL NEVER RECOMMEND OR GO BACK TO THIS LOCATION EVER! (FYI) My gel polish has NO gel shine, I might as well got a regular dry nail polish. The service and quality is terrible these two ladies made my experience the worst experience I have ever had in a nail salon. Primp and Polish Thank you for a...
Read moreFirst off, I never leave reviews unless the service is absolutely/remarkably horrible. A lot of people are very nitpicky which is why I donât usually trust most bad reviews, and it weirded me out that this place didn't have higher reviews based on its location, but I will add my two cents now.
The result was good, nothing to complain about on that end so far. However, Nicole, was absolutely rude to me. She kept yanking my hand the entire time, she would roll her eyes at me/stare at me if I moved a bit (not my hands, but my chair) and would apply so much pressure while filing my nails that it hurt me. She also spent WAY too much time on the nail prep before doing the actual paint. In which, I noticed some of the files look dirty instead of using completely new ones, which is not hygienic. At some point, she used acetone to take the polish off and start over, and not knowing that I noticed, she put some polish on without the base applicator for gel. She was absolutely unprofessional, and I also think she overcharged me as I got gel nail + removal, and charged $10 for the gel removal.
Won't be coming back to this location, but management please, make sure your nail techs are professional. I don't know if this was just discrimination, or if she was in a bad mood. I'm not a difficult customer and as I worked in service I'm very understanding (I obviously tipped) but this was highly unprofessional, especially for the price. The desk woman was very nice nonetheless.
Edit: I suspected this woman was racist as I seriously didn't do anything to make her this upset. I went down some older reviews, and I noticed another POC girl had this same issue with this same woman two years ago. I hope management looks into this because it is...
Read moreFrom the time you walk through the door it was a luxury experience. The environment is clean and relaxing. The waiting area is stocked with complimentary tea and water for customers and it is clean and not cluttered(with magazines messily Strewn about). I loved that the pedicure station was sectioned off behind a beaded curtain. The equipment used for your service is wrapped and sanitized (came out of a clean pack). The techs are on point! The hot stone massage was awesome, the price for hand designs was a bit much compared to other places(I've been) and not as elaborate but it's optional so eh. I loved the wide variety of colors and brands. I waited a bit but I didn't have an appointment they take walk ins but it's best to make an appointment if you can.what I can say is that they will find space for you in an alternate and nearby location of you are unable to wait, I think that's awesome. I didn't like that not all tech are able to do designs though, that was kind of annoying I decided by the time I got to my manicure I wanted a design and was told I should have mentioned that in advance, I didn't plan on it and decided to change my mind I would expect all staff to be able to function interchangeably so wanting a design should not have been a problem but that one lil snag doesn't change my opinion about my experience. I've been in search of a good match I think I found it. I shall be visiting...
