TLDR: I've never eaten the food, but it's not for lack of trying...
Here's the scoop. My wife and I wanted amatriciana (her favorite) for Valentine's Day. We found it at several places in the neighborhood, but everywhere we tried to book warned of a prefix menu for the holiday. Everywhere except Baci & Abbracci. So, we had hope that their full menu would be available so we could delite in her favorite pasta (I also think it's very good). We made a reservation a week in advance. Upon our arrival, which was on time, we learned that they too have a fixed holiday menu... No amatriciana to be found. We glanced over the menu... it was doable, so we decided to be flexible. So we chatted it up. After some time we slowly felt like we were in an episode of the twilight zone. Not a single table in the restaurant had food, and only one or two had drinks. The vibe wasn't just off, it was missing... and on the sexiest holiday of the year, it was just strange and forced. So we waited, 10 minutes, 20 minutes, 30, 40... No service (we were seated at a table next to others which were receiving service visible to everyone in the small dining room, so not like they forgot about us) still no service. We literally only received water for 40 minutes. No greeting, no orders placed, nada... I won't lie, I get hangry, maybe even hypoglycemic. So, we decided to order pickup burgers from down the street and head home, less I rage at someone trying to make ends meet. We packed it up (dressed to the nines) and headed home where I'm now writing this review. And... I was going to give it one star. But it dawned on me... The restaurant was having a bad night... But that doesn't mean that I too have to have a bad night. So instead, 2 stars. Baci, if you read this I'll revise the review if you meet several conditions:
Amatriciana on Valentine's Day in 2026 Some other sort of preferential treatment cus we were...
Read moreI cannot say more about this restaurant location and management. The way that they handled our Private Event for a Baby Shower on behalf of my sister was with as much Class, Professionalism, and Quality that I have ever experienced in the city of New York. Owner and his staff helped plan the event and made suggestions for which dishes/beverages we should offer for our group of nearly 50 people. During the event, the staff led by the Owner took precise care of us as if we were his own family and we very detail oriented. They lent us the back of the restaurant which had ample space for 3-4 tables and even an outdoor patio space perfect for group photos/photo catalog.
The food itself was among the best Italian food I have had in the city of New York. The house salads, Fried Calamari, Chicken Francese, and Shrimp with Spaghetti were all delicious as was the courtesy bread served beforehand. The coffee, tiramisu and cheesecake for dessert were all enjoyed by everyone as well. I couldn't imagine our Baby shower event going any better...
Thank you to Minmo and his wonderful staff for making this day so memorable and leaving such a good impression on the Baby shower guests. Your humility and experience were greatly appreciated. My only suggestion to Minmo would be that this restaurant needs to be either in Upper West Side, Lower East Side or the Financial District, and I think it would be more suitable for the type of clientele that deserves such great Italian food. By having this great restaurant in a brainwashed "go with the trend" Hipster neighborhood, I think he is limiting the potential for this restaurant to become more famous and well-known through the gigantic city of NYC. All I know is that if a foodie capitol like Houston, TX had such great Italian food, this restaurant would get the recognition and prestige that it demands from the city of...
Read moreI was their regular customer plus on seamless always it was my togo spot until I I had to face with their absolute rude approach. Instead of solving a minor problem with my order this gentleman on the phone was lecturing me that “I shouldn’t call seamless but call the restaurant.” and asking me “ why am I calling seamless?” and telling me “call restaurant” No sir if you don’t know how this works please go back to your business agreement between seamless and your business and check one more time. As a customer I get charged by seamless and you’re sending me wrong salad of course I’ll contact with seamless and ask them to correct my order. I asked the gentleman on the phone who he was and he confirmed that he’s the manager of this restaurant and lecturing me and asking me not to call seamless next time in a rude way. Ok thank you sir telling me where can I call or not! How about I’m not coming to your restaurant anymore. Hope you guys will be more respectful and kind to your customers who’s choosing you to spend their time and money. Despite everything I gave them the second chance and ordered the same thing. Guess what they didn’t send my salad that I ordered on top of it they send me a separate bill that I should pay the previous one which seamless canceled and refunded me. This is not a joke folks. I wish this was a bad joke but literally delivery person is asking me to call the manager otherwise he’s not giving my meal that I paid. I mean I’m speechless. I canceled everything and will never go...
